Brandy, most likely it's a battery problem. We're telling us that the radios were used I would think that the last two user did not sell you radios with new batteries. Try looking on eBay for the best price to replace your batteries.Hi

SOURCE: Motorola talkabout 200

Here is a link to the TA280 manual, which is similar to the TA200, http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/Outdated%20Manuals/T280_User_Manual.pdf

Funny thing, I haven't found the TA200 manual in English. Here it is in Czech: http://www.cbradio.cz/doc/Motorola/PMR%20TA200/manual.pdf If you do a google search, you can find the page and have it translated. I'll keep looking, and if I find it in English, I'll repost.

SOURCE: my motorola talkabout(1998)will not connect to

Check that both the channel and subchannel match between the radios. depending on your specific model, the channel should be between 1 - 14 , and the subchannel should be between 1 - 38. If this does not work I will need the specific model number to assist further.

SOURCE: How to charge battery in Motorola Talkabout Distance DPS

You can obtain a wall adapter style charger for your radio at your local Motorola dealer, or online at http://www.eradiostore.com/cart/index.php?target=products&mode=search&subcats=Y&type=extended&avail=Y&pshort=Y&pfull=Y&pname=Y&epcode=Y&q=htn8232

Sidenote: The rechargeable battery is good for about 2 to 3 years. You can tell the age of your battery by looking at the date code on the back of the battery above the stop sign. The first number is the year, the next two numbers are the week of the year. 915 would be 2009 the 15th week. (Or if very old it could be 1999 the 15th week.) A good battery, when charged will go an 8-10 hour day.

Keep both of your charge trays, replacements for these are no longer available.

SOURCE: motorola talkabout sx900 will not communicate

Here is a link to the user guide. http://www.banoggle.com/Products/Motorola/manuals/SX900-manual.pdf Page two will be where you will find most of the instructions. Check your frequency, code and Qt filter. Make certain they match one another identically. If you continue to have difficulties, set the code and Qt filter to zero (or off), as well as the weather alert. Then try the units again. Hope this solves your problem.

Best regards.

SOURCE: Antenna for a Motorola Talkabout 250

Get a plastic tube (3/8 PVC will work) and use it as a mould. Pump it full of black RTV silicone. Fixed!

My T5950 won't stop beeping when I push the PTT button. I tried holding the PTT in when I turn the unit on and that didn't stop it.

Very likely it is the battery. Beeping means not enough power especially when transmitting. Try charging the battery again, try transmitting again and plan on new batteries. They "wear out" even when not in use.

When I key my Motorola Talkabout it restarts.

Likely a low or bad battery. Exchange the battery with a known good unit to see if the problem stops. If so, replace the battery pack. If the problem persists you have a radio problem. This unit is not a repairable model. Sorry.

Best regards.

1 talkabout not working

Check the programming of the channel, interference eliminator and the Qt filter. These must match on both radios. Here is a link to the user manual to assist you: http://direct.motorola.com/ENS/T5920_T5950%20User%20Manual.pdf

T5950 Talk abouts

They are probably not programmed to match one another. There are 3 key settings on these radios: Frequency, Interference Eliminator and Qt Filter. If you walk through the programming instructions for each of these and set them identically, they should communicate.
