Most likely temperature control thermostat needs replacing. Also check damper between fridge and freezer. If mechanical, adjust where less air is going in fridge section. If not mechanical, but electric, damper door may not be closing.

SOURCE: Refrigerator freezes everything even on the lowest setting

Is everything really frozen or just the top shelf stuff? You may have a thermistor (temp sensor) problem if the compressor just runs and runs and runs all the time. Take a glass of water and place a thermometer in it for about 3 hours then take a temp. reading. That will let you know what the real temps are. See if you can cause the compressor to kick off and on by changing the temp settings (go to real low for about 5 minutes then back up to high). Let us know what happens.

SOURCE: Freezing in frig.

Check the air dampers at the bottom of the fresh food section. They may have been moved to a open position. If so close them up some.
Otherwise the cold control thermostat may need to be replaced.

SOURCE: Frigidaire Refrigerator FRS26H5ASB5 side-by-side

Hi, yes, your thermostat could be faulty, yes there should vent( damper), check controls on freezer side, controls amount of cold air going to ref. side, yes could be stuck by ice, yes both adjustment are necessary, check manual, some thermostat are very sensitive, you should adjust gradually, wait for about 40 minutes, before adjusting again. yes there's vent flap (damper) yes that could be your problem, normally they get stuck with ice, remove covers to locate it., you 're smart, you will see, damper, good luck.

We have a Sub Zero 249RP Refrigerator that - though the temperature is set at the lowest point - keeps freezing the food inside. Any ideas?

Um, try setting the temperature at a high point.... My subzero frig works on the "higher is warmer" idea.

Frig keeps freezing

most often the problem lies within the cold temperature control failing to properly turn off and on the unit. when it freezes, its running more than it should. you will have to replace the cold control. But do to the complexity, and possibility of making costly errors in installation, i would recommend you find a reputable service company for help. start with anyone danby recommends.
