What do I use to kill gnats in my house?
Pest cans released in the sealed house
they go by many names but the can has a release that you break and it jams on so letting all of the pest control out to get into every nook and cranny where pests hide
Kills everything including birds and pets if left inside
when the allocated period of time is obtained ( around 2 hours ) you open all the doors and windows and allow the house to ventilate

Use dynamite, bad a-- insecticides. Either tempo or Taurus (generic for termidor). Taurus is a tad more expensive because it will also get on insects hairs and when they back to their colony the stuff will rub off on their neighbors and whack them also. Excellent for social buggers.

You may wish to try some safe methods as described here: http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Rid-of-Gnat
Clean up the living area where the gnats are hanging around. This is usually the kitchen .Take away all garbage, clean the sink disposal, and throw away any food residue.
Spray the counters with a cleaner that contains bleach to discourage gnats. Dry off the counters with paper towels.
Pour a cup of ammonia down your sink drains and disposal to coat the inside. Gnats inside the drains will quickly die.
Mix together equal parts apple cider vinegar and dish detergent.
Pour the mixture into small dishes or cups and set them out in the areas where gnats congregate. The gnats will be attracted to the sweetness of the vinegar but will get caught and die in the dish soap.
Keep trash cans covered at all times, and empty them every night.
Leave your compost buckets outside. Gnats love vegetables and fruits.
Avoid over watering your plants. Soggy soil attracts gnats
