Horizontal lines on image

I have had 3 of the 8 Nikon 8700 cameras I have at work develop the same horizontal lines on the images. All three of the cameras were bought in late 2004. Two of them went out last summer and I just sent the last one into the service center today. This is the only way they ca I asked Nikon if this was a common problem and they ignored the question.
