If your lucky its leaking from the drain plug or pressure switch. Take the sides off the heater. If its a simple fix you will now be able to see the leak, and should be able to make the repair yourself. if not it is undoubtedly the heat exchanger. Rheem/Raypak calls it tube bundle. I suggest a repair technician for this as there is internal parts to inspect and look for proper operation.
At least now you will have the knowledge beforehand when the technician comes and says its a 1000.00 repair its not a simple lucky fix he should have caught for a faction of the cost.

Water sensor shorted. How do I resolve the problem?

Raypak 2100 pool heater won't heat, PRS and HL2 error codes.

Well, I replaced the pressure switch with no joy. I tried all 5 levels of pressure 1-5 and every wiring combination. Finally, I returned the new $70 pressure switch and took the 2 wires and tied them together (jumped them). Here's the only downside...If you run your pump in backwash, recirc, waste, or any mode that would cause water to bypass the heater it MUST BE OFF. Otherwise, let it ride. It's working great and I hope to go into October weather permitting.

Service light comes on our Raypak RP 2100 pool heater.

this usually indicates a high limit condition.you must first ascertain if you have a component failure or a true high tempature condition.your model has 2 limit controls and they are both located in side panel on water in/out header

Raypak 2100 ignites then it turns off or shakes bangs HL1

Check the bypass in the header for damage. HL1 along with the banging/popping is too low of water flow through the heater and the water is getting to hot.
