Hi my name is Fred and I bought a 2700psi generac pressure washer new a few years ago and has been great up intill now when I start the engine the water stops coming out what would cause this

if you only got your washer 2 months ago i would not mess around with it,i would get in touch with whom ever you bought it of and get them to check it out.
Just pull out plug w cable on and crank engine..shud see fire. If not then bad connect or magneto. I think u let engine set w ethanol gas n now carb is gummed. Always drain tank n float. U will need an outboard chemical at a boat shop to fix. Or carb needs overhaul
Gas engine surging and losing power sounds like dirty carb to me.
Pressure washers are often used and then sit for months before being used again. This often creates blockage in carb passages. If you have or install a fuel cutoff valve you can reduce this problem. When you are done pressure washing, turn off the fuel valve and continue spraying water until the carb empties ( the engine will sputter and go out) Next time you want to wash turn on the valve and you should be good to go.
Hello Take out the spark plug and try pulling,if it is still hard then then there is a problem with the pull start mechanism. Check the plug for oil fouling or fresh oil.If there is excessive oil you may have bad rings.
If in doubt, craftsman will honor the 1 year warranty no questions asked,for a new unit.
I hope you did have it connected to a water line. I'm also assuming the pressure washer function is working ok. Some times the sypon tubing gets clogged from cleaners drying up and building up in tubing and passageway. Does your gun have a cleaning on/off function sometimes by twisting handle? If you have an extra hose, try forcing some water in the tubing while trying to apply solution. If all else fails, clean all solution passageways.
