Just pull out plug w cable on and crank engine..shud see fire. If not then bad connect or magneto. I think u let engine set w ethanol gas n now carb is gummed. Always drain tank n float. U will need an outboard chemical at a boat shop to fix. Or carb needs overhaul

Power washer runs until air filter is put back on

Have you replaced the air filter? Without the air filter the engine is getting enough oxygen to support combustion. With the air filter it does not get enough oxygen. If you have not replaced the filter it sounds like it is time to replace it. If you have been "cleaning" the old filter and reusing it, small particles may be lodged in the filter, reducing the airflow. Is it a pleated paper filter or a oil dipped foam filter. If it is a foam filter, have you cleaned it? If you replaced it was it a store replacement or a piece of foam you obtained and made it fit? Foam can be closed cell or open cell , both look similar but closed does not allow airflow and open does .

Motor fires up fine runs slightly rough for about 10 seconds then smooths out for about 5 seconds and cuts off. Will start right back up after about 5 seconds and does the same thing. I have drained the...

Previous owner had way overfilled crankcase oil. Oil had gotten into carb and clogged air filter. Drained oil to correct level. Ran engine but kept cutting off-see above. Took off carb cover cleaned housing and ran without air filter-ran fine. Unsuccessfully tried to clean air filter with gas-did not work. Apparently, the engine could run just long enough to exhaust the air in the old filter and cut off which is why it would start back up after a few seconds. Bought new air filter-whole thing-about $15 at Carquest. Put in some carb cleaner and installed the new filter and it runs perfectly.

Has gas but will not start

To conclusively diagnose the problem though remove the air filter and spray a little carb cleaner in the air intake and try to start the unit. Most of the time, I have seen fuel system varnished up on these units from sitting for a long time. has this been sitting with fuel in it? Fuel actually starts breaking down is a matter of 30 days. I would drain the fuel and try fresh gas, and then cleaning the carburetor, The carburetor on your unit is fairly easy to rebuild.

Pressure washer surges

This could be your unloader valve taking in account the engine isn't surging. Does the engine run smooth? Do you have at least 50 psi water pressure feeding the pump? Inlet screen clogged? ALL tips act same way or no change?

I have the 2700 PSI pressure washer and I cannot get the cleaning solution to run through the unit. any suggestions?

One of two possible problems: either the hose is plugged or the fitting where the hose goes into the down stream connection is plugged with dried up soap. This happens after winter storage. Clean out with pipe cleaner or air pressure. My problem was was dried soap at connection.
