Portable air conditioners cool the air, and in so doing, dehumidify the air. The "buckets" of water are coming from the humid air in your environment, so you need to do things that will reduce humidity, of be prepared to empty the condensate receptacle fairly often.

Using a small room, closing doors and windows to the room you want cooled, avoiding cooking or heating water, reducing the frequency of people walking into/out of the room and limiting the number of people in the room will all help in reducing, and keeping low, the ambient humidity.

Look for a crack on the water tank or a dried up gasket on the tank. Loose hose clamps can allow a leak as well.

The processes are the same. If you set the fan speed to low, or to a poaition that cycles the fan only when the compressor in the unit is running and cooling controls/humidistat to about mid position, it should dehumidify without making the space too cold. If it is ot dry enough, lower the temperature or adjust to "Colder". If it is too cold, adjust the other way.

This is a generic description, but it should help getting things drier for you. I am only able to find one Heller division with a web page in the US dated 2004, but no portable Air conditioners nor dehumidifiers.

This might be a couple things M's Jackie. 1 the reversing valve is stuck or bad,2 the swtch is broken , Is this a heat pump. Meaning you use it to both heat and cool the home? There is not gas connected to this unit?

I have a Heller Gusty10c0 Portable Air Con. When It hasn't been used for a while. I turn it on and it last about 10 minutes then just stops. Then when ever I turn it on it cuts out after about 30 secs to a minute. Can anybody help me please?

We have this same AC. To drain the reservoir completely, you need to tip it backward, basically until it's parallel with the floor. Kind of silly, but yeah. After draining, you want to run it on fan for a while (we leave the reservoir plug empty while doing this), which should evaporate out any remaining water.
That said, we still may only get a few hours out of it before needing to drain it again.

please make sure first your air con,s compressor is working if it, working and it,s not getting cold then it can be low gas problem or if compressor is not working then please check the thermostat settings and make tempreture correct and setting on cool mode
then i hope if it,s only normal problem then your air con will work again .
after that if not get cold then contact to air con technician for repair it (it,s need to repair and only air con special maintenance person can do it)

Is the air coming out of it cold? It will take a while to cool the whole room down. If it isn't cold then maybe it is short of gas (caused by a gas leak) This may be the reason it was a factory second!! :-S Also, setting it for 16 degrees as opposed to 23 degrees won't make it work any harder. That will be why it runs forever. Air con's usually can't get a room down to 16 degrees!

This might possibly be a format error. what i need to know is where you bought and which model you have?
