I figured it out. If you are low on (25%) on either colors or black, then it won't print. Even if you load a new black cartridge and it reads as 100% black, it won't print because it will only print when BOTH cartridges have been replaced and reads 100%.
Same thing happens reversed with color being replaced.
So basically, ALL printers short you 25% ink and FORCE you to buy their ink more often. Kodak is no exception.
I have 100% black and 25% color and a BW only needed text paper won't print. I been through this before. *facepalm*
To fix this you first need to remove the ink and the print head. Wash the 4 ink pads in luke warm water. Keep running the water over the bottom of the print head until the water shows no sign of ink colouration. Make sure all of the print head is completely dry before replacing it into your printer. After restarting your printer you will probably see the alarm light still flashing. Now hold your finger on the resume button for up to 2 minutes or until you hear a clunking sound. Hold your finger on this button and the printer will fix itself and the alarm light will stop.
in your printer try to press on the restart button and hold it for about 8 to 10 seconds. by the way the ink cartridges that you installed are the genuine ink cartridges, if not then its gonna be normal that it won't detect as new.
CL41, this is the one you are using for your cartridge.
Did you change your cartridge with brand new one or refilled one??
If you did with refilled one, the ink level won't go back with full.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the method how printer measures the ink level.
1. Each cartridge has a serial number.
2. As soon as installation in printer, printer recognizes the cartridge by serial #.
3. And the printer starts to count the printing document.
4. After reaching certain print counting, the ink level will show "low ink"
So my answer is even if you refilled your cartridge, the ink level won't change,
since printer cannot weight the cartridge or.....some other technology to measure each color ink level.
may be the ink cartridge is empty/not working. remove and return then restart the printer. if empty u can buy a new one. if u are a risk taker buy the black ink then a seridge and a niddle then refill it.
The Kodak printers are designed in such a way so as to work with combination of Both color and black ink..In other printers, the prints are not that sharp, but In kodak printers color are awesome because even if we print black and white, the color from the color ink is also taken to give you those lifetime prints.Unfortunately There is no way to overcome this ink indicator. You cans et the preferences in the printer settings to print in black and white in your computer .
