How to put watch in Wolf Winder?
To put your watch in the winder, remove the cuff by pinching the two outside wings inward and pull. Close your watch's strap or bracelet before placing the watch on the cuff. Compress the cuff, then slide your watch over the cuff, the watch face should cover the WOLF logo.
if the watch as not been worn for a long time it's best to wind it by hand first to get it started, just make sure the winder is pushed all the way in and then just keep winding it clockwise till it start going..
The Rolex time change is done after three clicks when you pull the winder. If the winder can actually be pulled out of the stem (separate) the damage is serious.
Sorry. Only an authorized dealer can get the parts for it to be repaired.
mcdevito75 here, Best bet, look for a small watch repair shop in your area for another knob. As long as the stem is in place you just need the winding knob.
mcdevito75 here, If your Wittnauer is a Quartz movement, look for a small piece of plastic, just under the crown (winder) remove this piece of plastic carefully and push the crown back down to start your watch, if it's an automatic movement, try to wind with the stem if you feel a resistance then winding will initially start yor watch by winding with 20--30 winds, if you feel no resistance when winding the simply rock your watch back and forth in your hand, you will detect something moveing inside the watch, this is the counter balance winding the watch, rock the watch back and forth for approx. 30 seconds to start an initial wind.
Ensure crown is in neutral position i.e. pressed home (not in set hands posn.) Remove back and adjacent to the winding stem on the movement there should be a small button (may be indicated with an arrow) depress this gently whilst withdrawing the crown and stem from the watch. Ensure you don't engage to set hands position in the process. You might also find a couple of screws securing the movement into the case. P.S. Usually don't need to remove from case to replace battery.
Open the watch and lay it on the table dial down and winder facing you. Get the hard steel needle and push down the small metal piece next to the to the place where the stem is entering the movement (on the left side). Pull out the stem while holding that piece down. If thhat piece looks like screw cap (with the groove), then you have to unscrew it in order to get the stem out. Do not forget to rate, please.
There is a tiny point (end of small metal piece called setting lever) on the left side of the stem (on watch movement, very close where the stem is entering the movement). You have to push that point down with a metal pin or tweezers. Crown (winder) must be pushed in to normal position otherwise you will not be able to put the stem back properly. So, do as follows: 1) Push the crown in, 2) Lay the watch down on flat surface and push on setting lever point, 3) While holding setting lever pushed in- extract the setting lever by gently pulling crown out of watch.
