It maybe a flex problem or keyboard problem. The reason why I said it maybe a flex problem is because flip phones are fond of having flex problems because of the constant open and close of the flip. It makes the flex wear/worn out. And it maybe a mere disconnection. Which ever the case maybe, the phone needs to be disassembled in order to check/know what's wrong. Regards.
