Open the battery comparment on the handset. Under the
battery there should be a small sticker with the model
number. Take this number to www.manualslib.com and
you'll be able to download the original users' manual....
which will then answer many questions.
Click menu/select button, select>Ans. system, press up/dn arrow to select >ans. machine set-up, then press menu/select. up/dn to.announcement, then press menu/select. handset announces "to play press the #" (that it tells you, to record, press the # that it tells you). handset announces "record after tone" and (press the # it tells you) when complete. after tone, speak towards the microphone of handset. press# it told you when complete.
Have you tried it with other batteries? The handset will be dead on
the cradle regardless of juice from the wall, if the batteries are
missing or no good. This unit eats batter juice quickly if left off
the cradle for any length of time.
Well, I'm sorry to say that I've spent the last hour trying to find a way for you to reset this to factory & it looks like you can not. I had a hard time believing that (which is why it became an obsession) but, I think you're going to have to ask a neighbor to record a message for you. Actually, that sounds like fun :-)
Push the top left button (looks like an audio tape). Then push 9 It will display a 180second count down in which to record your voice message. When finished, push the top right button (looks like and arrow into a diamond).
To turn off/on the answering machine:
I lost my user manual for my Doro 615R+1 home phone, so after much deliberation and playing with many buttom combinations, worked out how to turn off the answering machine.
- Open the answering machine function by pushing the top left button (looks like an audio tape).
- Push '0' and then use the up and down arrows to select On or Off.
- To enter your selection push the top right button (looks like and arrow into a diamond).
I have replace my doro batteries with Duracell rechargeables, just make sure you fully charge them before you put them in the handset. If you find after a time that the charge goes again, charge them again (in the charger you buy when you buy the batteries)! Hope this helps. PS, do you know how to turn the answering machine on?
