Everytime i turn on my laptop the screen stays black it happended when i was just openning pinnacle studio 12 and then the screen went black it turns on but with black screen any help?
Take out your battery and hold down the power button for 60secs... This will release any excess charge built up in the machine.Put the power back on but without the battery,just plug the adapter and if it turns on then you know what's wrong.You need a new battery.Make your laptop light.Make sure you don't have anything attached to the Laptop and then restart. It could also be your hardware [motherboard,graphics card,screen] problem,if you can,try tightening the screen connection from inside. If that also doesn't solve the problem then you need to go to the company service center.

He had been pretty rough with it and none of us were surprised that it had caught up with him. Today he and I spent some time on-line researching the problem and were pretty convinced we needed to buy a new panel ...then came to your suggestions We went through your steps and after tightening the screen connection - WALA! SCREEN IS BACK ON! My son is soooo happy right now he is smiling and singing. Thank you very much for bringing him this joy, lesson and his favorite machine and for saving me money! Now lets hope he learns to treat his computer with more care. Best to you and yours always. : )

Had the same problem with mine: Actually the screen did work, however backlight did not, so it was very dim. It turned out to be a hardware problem. I took off the display and looked inside (you can find a video showing how to do this on youtube: just google for "S10-2 open case"). It turned out that the connector on the rear side of the LCD needed reseating. That was all :-).

Reboot with cd or get in to the bios and check startup settings.. sounds like the program has changed the settings.. do you know how to get in to BIOS,, or seek help from nearby pc store...
