Move Pictures, Music, Movies to an external USB hard drive or burn to DVD. Uninstall unused programs and make sure your recycle bin is empty.

Try copying the driver files (install and otherwise) to a USB flash stick. Put it into a usb port, turn computer on. You should then be able to access the files throughout the installation.

Must be bad burn, make a new one... make correctly this time, burn at 4x NOT fast. OR Bad ISO file, DL NEW file, do new burn... Use ultraiso, portable.

If you can shine a light into the screen and faintly make out the images? Then it's probably the inverter/backlight board, not too expensive or difficult to replace in most cases. Let us know.

Not enough information to answer. Need manufacturer and specific model number before we can help. Generally, though, laptops come with one of three ways to restore. 1. The manufacturer supplies a restore disk. Recovery partitions are nice and convenient until the problem is the hard drive itself.
