Have a 1994 full size blazer, no keys, how do i open rear hatch without the keys?

There's a clever workaround to open the rear hatch without resorting to breaking windows or costly repairs. Here's how:

Interior Tailgate Panel Access:
Gently pull back the interior tailgate panel right above the bump in the middle where the latch is located.
There are no screws or bolts in that area, so it should pull away about 2 inches.
Once you've created enough space, you'll need to reach in and push down the release bar.
Unlocking the Glass:
Feel around for the part that needs to be pushed down.
When you successfully push it down, the glass will be unlocked.
Opening the Glass and Tailgate:
Now that the glass is unlocked, both the glass and the tailgate can be opened.
If you want to leave the interior tailgate panel off temporarily, you can just push the manual release lever whenever needed.
Remember, this method allows you to access the rear hatch without damaging the tailgate panel or ripping out the carpet.

Mu laptop hinges are broken. I wanted to know what problems this may cause? Sometimes when I tipe words, it doesn't work in the screen. This could be related with the broken hinges?

Laptop hinges are generally made of low-cost metal alloys, or "pot metal yeah this may cause problem you can fix your broken hinges easily by spending little time ." Pot metal is not particularly durable, and over the course of a laptop's life cycle, repeated opening and closing of the computer's lid can cause wear that prevents the lid from staying in an open position. Hinges can also wear to the point that they break at the point of attachment, either on the lid or the computer's body.

Hinges are usually attached to the computer's frame via machine screws. In order to get the most life out of your computer's hinges, it is not a bad idea to perform a yearly inspection. Remove the hinge covers and check that the machine screws that secure the hinges are tightened fully. If screws are missing, contact the computer's manufacturer to order replacement screws; hinges missing screws are subjected to additional stress and can wear out faster if steps are not taken to replace the screw.
Lubrication of the hinge is possible, but not recommended; if the wrong type of lubricant is used, it could damage the computer's case or seep into the electrical components and further damage the computer. Consult a professional technician if you feel that your hinges require lubrication.

o Hinges can also be damaged when the computer is picked up by its lid, dropped from various heights or opened beyond the angle at which it should stop. In these situations, damage to the hinges may be of secondary concern, as component damage and data loss might have occurred. Depending on the amount of damage and warranty status, the computer may require complete replacement.

Laptop hinges are not indestructible, but their coverings and trim may show wear long before the hinges are actually in any danger of failure. Most laptops on the market include plastic hinge covers. The hinge covers can develop stress fractures from repeated wear; most of the time, this is not indicative of a hinge problem.
Some laptop hinges are housed within the bezel or trim of the computer's monitor or body. This, too, is generally made of plastic, and might develop stress cracks after a few years of use. Hinge covers and bezels are usually modular, and replacements are generally easy to find at low to moderate costs.

Repair

o Hinge problems can be mitigated with adjustments to the hinge's tension or additional hardware installation by the user. Brackets can be installed on the outer case to allow for hinge-like performance, or the screen can be mounted in a fixed position. If the screen is left permanently open, care should be taken to prevent damage to the screen and to prevent dust accumulation in the keyboard.
The lid and screen assembly can also be replaced, if the correct parts can be found. Replacement of the lid and screen can be cost-prohibitive, with parts and labor sometimes exceeding the cost of the computer.

My gateway M-1634u notebook screen backlight is not functioning are there any repair schematics available?

No, all that's available are disassembly diagrams.Looks like you have a bad "inverter'. Thisis a small circuit board (about 1/2inch by 4 inches) located inside the screens plastic case in the area just above the center of your keyboard. It has two small cables connected to it(one on each end). You'll have to take your screen off the laptop by the hinges and then open the screens plastic case with a small screwdriver.
Opening the laptop enough to get to the screens hinges is usually a job done by experience, since every laptop has a slightly different hinge mechanism and procedure for accessing them.

Laptop Lid will not open

There are two metal hinges that are on that laptop model and are at top of laptop near keyboard and screen joint. When one of these hinges breaks, and they do, it can become jammed. By continuing to try and open it you run the risk of damaging the LCD on the laptop. The top of the laptop has to be removed to access the hinges and replace them. This is not something a novice can do easily and is dangerous to the laptop. If its not under warranty and you feel comfortable with your skills you can try. However I would recommend a repair shop. The hinges for this model run about 10 dollars for the pair and the labor would be whatever the local rate is. Kenmore 25360132993 - wasn't closing / sealing. While working on it, it stopped closing altogether, seemed to have dropped 1/4 inch or something. Is it a cam? Is it a hinge? Is it the gasket? Is it the...

The lower hinge on each door may have a door closing cam. It raises the door up ¼ inch when opening and this assist in closing the door. If it’s wore out and doesn’t work the door may not seal and the gasket can be damaged. Watch the operation of the door to see if it rises up when opened.

Leave the door shut and let the magnetic gasket hold the door in place. Put something between the bottom of the door and the floor to hold it in case it slips.
Remove the bracket holding the pin and hinge assembly taking note of order of removal of parts. Slide new cams on. You probably need two.

I need to know how to replace the display hinges on my presario

QUICK METHOD

1) Hinges supplied on ebay at about £15 a set. Non original parts seem fine.
A mini screwdriver set of decent quality with a magnetic feature helps & Duck (duct) tape.

2) Switch off and remove from mains source. Also flick battery holding switch and push out main
battery. Remove small Phillips screws under battery.

3) You can try the 'quick' method and not undo the whole of the base screws BUT be very careful
as you work not to damage the 2 sets of wires passing through the LH and RH hinges.

4) Pry off the long back top cover near hinges which has the start button on it and 'Presario' written
on. You do this by pushing from front just under F2 F3 SCROLL and PAUSE keys as well as from
the back. If you hold the keys down as you pry this helps. Use a thin blade of driver but be careful
not to split the thin plastic. TAKE YOUR TIME - BE FIRM BUT DON'T FORCE. Work round it
and it will eventually pop out upwards.

5) You have now access to the hinge cover(s) so remove these and also offending hinge(s) from main
body.
Don't let the lid sprain the hinges even further or break as existing good one! A temporary
hinge of Duck taping lid to base may help.

6) Take out the little grey rubber plugs from the screen side of the lid. They can be stuck back after.
Unscrew silver phillips screws (6 or 8 I think).

7) The plastic front of lid should now pry off and whole top opens up to reveal the side hinge
fastening. Unscrew little black screws and keep safe. Then carefully extract hinge.

8) Refitting basically just reverse of above. Hinges are naturally stiff to hold the screen so open
them up to the best angle to get all hinge screws in. A magnetic screwdriver does help!
Also, if both hinges have gone do one THEN the other to avoid pulling the lid cables too much.

I did mine, hinges fine and laptop still works!
