I would check all fans first to see if it is overheating. If you open the side case there should be some diagnostic leds you can refer to regarding which components are working or not working.

How do i fix an ibm server x3400 mt 7975 that is failing to power up ?

The power supply isn't getting a good power signal from the motherboard. Sometimes unplugging the 20 pin connector and plugging it back in a few times will clean a faulty connection. Otherwise your power supply is at fault.

Welcome to fixya

This error can come if there is any issue on Raid controller

Most probably , dust will be the enemy.

Just re-fix the raid controller and check. ( Power off the server while doing this job)

After re-fix check if it works . If it doesn't then it's time to replace the controller.

Thanks

How to install windows server2003in ibm server x3400

The install is fairly easy. Before you begin make sure if you have SCSI adaptors installed have the drivers for them on hand. If you do not have these drivers you should download them to a 1.4MB floppy disk. When you are ready, put the Windows Server disk in the cd/dvd and reboot the IBM. Follow the instructions on screen and you shoud be fine. From start to finish it should take you about 1 1/2 hours to complete everything.

Good Luck
