How to unlock a whirlpool gold oven..i can open it..i cant start the oven to bae anything because it says its lock..i dnt know what to do.

SAFETY THERMOSTAT MAY HAVE TRIPPED. MOST ARE LOCATED BEHIND THE REAR SERVICE PANEL. THERE SHOULD BE A WIRE DIAGRAM, USUALLY ON TOP OF THE OVEN IN A POCKET, IF THE THERMO IS OPEN, WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED & OVEN WOULD HAVE TO BE CHECKED FOR ACURACY.

Whirlpool have the self clean latch assembly solenoid go bad and wont return back to unlock the switch to tell the control is is no longer in self clean. Replace the self clean latch assembly or make sure the switch on the assembly is in the non self clean mode, If the oven starts working then you know the problem if it still doesn't work then there may be other issues.

LOC is a control panel lock not a door lock, see below.

The Control Lock shuts down the control panel pads to prevent
unintended use of the ovens.
When the control is locked, only the CLOCK, TIMER SET and
TIMER OFF pads will function.
The Control Lock is preset unlocked, but can be locked.
To Lock/Unlock Control: Before locking, make sure the ovens,
Timer and Timed Cooking are off. Press and hold START/ENTER
until a single tone sounds and "Loc," a picture of a lock and
"START?" will appear on the oven display, about 5 seconds.
Repeat to unlock and remove "Loc" from display.

If the above does not work have you tried removing power from the uit for a few minutes to see if it will reset.

There is a thermal fuse mounted on the back of the oven that feeds power to both elements. This fuse has open up. The control panel gets power via a different path and still lights up.

Had to switch it off at the breaker, wait for it to cool down, and switch the breaker back on. Then it unlocked. In the meantime, however, our french fries were completely incinerated, and the house filled with smoke.

Take a wire coathanger and cut the long wire from the middle.
Bend a small "U" shape on one end.
Slide the "U" in from the left side of the oven door near the top center.
Moving the wire back and forth slowwly to grasp the lock latch.
When you feel the latch pull the wire firmly to the left to open the door.
Then have the latch mechanism repaired.

oven does not light up, no heat

Whirlpool Gold range: start the self cleaning but after message: cln door comes message, E1-F5- . door does not lock and cleaning can not start.

RBS275PDB17 single electric self-cleaning oven; although the manual is generic, it specifies, "When the cycle is completed and the oven cools, "End" will appear on the lower oven display and "LOCKED' will disappear" and "To Stop Self-Clean any time: Press UPPER/OFF, LOWER/OFF or OFF/CANCEL. If the oven temperature is too high, the door will remain locked. It will not unlock until the oven cools." Has your oven had time to cool?
