Teac A170S won't play, RW, FF, or record.

Hello
Can you hear the motor running, when you press any of the Play, Rew or FF buttons?. Just place your ear very close to the player and listen to it. If the answer is 'yes', the drive belt is broken or slipped off. You have to replace the drive belt. If the answer is 'no' the motor of your device's drive mechanism has damaged, and should be replaced. OK.

WISH YOU A PROSPEROUS 2012.

Wanted steps to unlock region code for Samsung DVD-C370

  • Make sure there is no disc in the player.
  • Turn on the player (you can use remote control or front panel, it doesn't matter)
  • Wait for "No Disc" message to appear on the TV screen.
  • Press the Repeat button on remote (plain, not A-B).
  • Press the correct sequence of buttons of remote according to the original region code of your player (it's on the sticker on the back panel of the player).
  • FF = fast forward, FR = fast rewind.
  • Region 2 players: FF, FR, FF, UP, DOWN
  • Region 3 players: FF, PLAY, FR, UP, LEFT
  • Region 4 players: FR, PLAY, DOWN, DOWN, RIGHT
  • Region 5 players: FF, UP, DOWN, STOP, RIGHT
  • Region 6 players: LEFT, RIGHT, RIGHT, PLAY, LEFT
  • If you pressed the correct sequence, a small white number 0 will appear somewhere on the top right of the screen.
  • The white number 0 of the same font and size as the "No Disc" message, so don't confuse with the red "not allowed" sign that would appear when you press a function that's not available.
  • Turn the player off and on again, then you can pop in a DVD of any region and watch immediately.

It’s a common Sony error code, usually involves the take-up reel, the tape maybe slacked a bit, tighten the tape by doing a FF and RW, sometimes the cassette gets packed to one side, smack the cassette against a flat surface lightly on both sides, do a FF RW and see if that takes care of it, if it only happens with one tape, bless it and bury it, if it happens all the time you may need repair, if you have done a net search you probably have run into mentions of people getting physical to the transport side of the various cams, up to you what you do.
If you have a problem clearing the error use the little reset button under the LCD panel.

I had a video tape get stuck in it. I tried ff and reverse but I couldn't get it out. I took it apart and untangled the video tape and was able to remove it in tact. But the VCR won't work for other tapes....

There is a small pencil dia, into which a lever enters to unlock it on the underside of the cassette which when pushed in and unlocks both sides on which the tape enabling FF & RW & PLAY. The pin must have got its angle changed or manged to change wile removing the stuck tape..................sodeep

Hp quickplay button issues - dv9000

Ok the problem lies within the software. You may need to update the driver. Yes drivers tell this device added what to do. So log onto HPs website, download the updated version. This should help, if this does not help it then becomes hardware, which is better off leaving alone do to the expense.

Camcorder has problems

I've had mine for about 3 years and just last year it started giving me playback problems....the screen would have blue stripes across it and sound won't play. I could usually fix it by rewinding and playing again...but it's not correcting itself right now... I hope I didn't waste 60000 yen on this c_c;

VR8707 VCR. No Rewind or Fast Forward

I thing that you are having problems with your gear assembly on the carriage. FF and RW use a series of gears to move the tape from one reel to the other. If possible could you take some pictures of the gear assembly. More then likely the gears are not making contact or the drive belt has slipped. Granted this is just conjecture until I can see those pictures of the assembly. [email protected]

Denon DRM 740 tape does not play

Just bought a unit from a thrift store. Found same problem; FF & RW OK, but play engages then stops. Also noticed buzzing noise when power turned on. Opened unit, found broken capstan drive belt. FF & RW driven from different motor. Buzz was drive motor running freely with no load - when power is on, capstan is driven all the time for fast play/record start. Replaced with rubber band, and it works --- now looking for replacement belt.
