SOURCE: Blank Screen and faulty shutter blades

I found out the hard way that you should never use alkaline batteries in a Digital Camera. I thought my camera had a fundamental flaw (power kept going off whenever I tried to take a photo or record a video and the shutter blades half closed) even though it was only 2 months old. I nearly wrote it off but all along the problem was that I was using alkaline batteries, which incidentally were enclosed with the camera in the box!! Once I switched to NiMH (Nickel) batteries the camera worked fine and the fault completely vanished! These NiMH batteries are avaiable in most electrical shops i.e currys/comet in the UK. They must be charged before use. They are more expensive than alkaline batteries (£8-£9 for 4) but as they are rechargable they last a long time.

SOURCE: blurry pictures

This is the problem of the ZOOM in your camera. Its alignment is disturb by you. Your camera must have fallen down or some one has pressed the ZOOM from front when it was open. The solution is to get repaired at your nearest SONY service center.

How do i access my Sony vaio webcam

Sony's Vaio laptop computer line includes the company's Motion Eye webcam and ArcSoft WebCam Companion software for Vista and Windows 7 operating systems. Located in the LCD screen's upper bezel, the webcam is positioned at face-level when seated at the computer and automatically tracks movement to keep subjects within the lens's field of view.

1.Click on the "Start" menu at the bottom left corner of your screen, choose "All Programs" at the bottom of the menu just above the search box.
2.Scroll through the program list until "ArcSoft WebCam Companion" is located. Alternatively, you may type "WebCam Companion" in the search box to locate the program.
3.Click on the WebCam Companion icon to open the program. The program window will open, offering choices of Capture, Record, Monitor and Edit. Capture is used to take still pictures individually or in a series, Record is used to record videos, Monitor records videos when motion is detected and Edit allows editing of previously recorded videos.
4.Choose the webcam function you wish to use by clicking the icon. The appropriate screen will open, activating the webcam and displaying the camera view on-screen. The on-screen view will display what is within the field of the webcam lens, allowing you to adjust the LCD screen or your position before beginning webcam functions.
5.Click the webcam function according to the mode you have chosen. Functions in Capture mode include Capture or Burst, Record in the Record mode, Monitor in the Monitor mode and Snap Shot or Edit Video in Edit mode. When you have completed your webcam activity, the program automatically saves your video or snap shot within the program to be accessed, viewed or edited at a later time.

When i was taking picture the lens of my camera ( sony dsc-w120) become blurd. why'?

The cameras capacity to capture motion pictures is disimpressionful. Usually cameras have feature functionalities either as still picture shoot or motion video recorder devices. Cameras may have any once of the mentioned features or both as complementary for videographic requriements. Inspecte the camera for capacity to capture motion picturee. Usually, the lense capacity with pixel capacities are indication of extensive capabilities. An impressionful camera producign disintergral result requries adjusting the lense or pixles buttons prior to photo shut. Also, cameras that least have the pixel capacity requires photo shoots at still motion or at calm climate least onbracting activities. Capture pictures at areas that least have movement caused by human interfernce or windy or suny blurs. Also, capture pictures maybe retored of blurry filming from computer photo video editor programs. My sony cybershot camera got wet. After capturing the screen displays fine horizontal lines over the picture. Does it need repair?

Hi,

Sounds like it is not terminal, perhaps some damp has got in where it shouldn't be. I would place the camera in a warm environment (say an airing cupboard) for a few days and see if this clears the problem. I'm assuming that the pictures taken are ok once downloaded, and it is only the LCD screen on the camera that is a problem.

... please don't put the camera in an oven!! A warm place with low humidity is best.

: ))

Cheers,
Ripface.

Sony analogue Hi8 Handycam as a security camera

Hi!

You need to have things with you before you can proceed to use it as a security camera. As your's is a analog camera we will require a video capture card connected with your pc/laptop.

After you have one connect that with your pc and pTo get the video into your computer, you need a analogue to digital video capture card....otherwise, connect the camcorder to a CD or DVD player/recorder, and use the CD/DVD as a source for your video editing... Otherwise, you need a later model of SONY "Digital 8" digital camcorder which plays analogue tape, and with this your computer can capture the video via firewire

For details on how to record using a software and video capture card please look at this link---
Handycam as Security camera

CCD-TRV308 Recording issuses

When was the last time you "cleaned" the heads? Use a good commercial head cleaning tape. They have both "Wet" and "Dry" types. I prefer the "wet" over the dry. I think it does a better job but they are hard to find sometimes.
you can also do it manually with "foam" swabs and "methanol1.gif". Alcohol works but the methanol leaves less residue behind.

If that doesn't solve the problem the next step would be to take it to a repair shop for cleaning and re-alignment.

Sanyo XACTI HD1 Camera-No Pictures / Videos captured.

I have intermittent problems of this type too. Occasionally I get a blank screen in the display mode.

Does the red light on the back of your camera flash while the screen is dark? Mine does.

It is beginning to bug me a lot. It may be because I got my camera wet in the past (and hence I have broken my camera), but I doubt that would result in a partial failure.

I think that the Xacti HD1/HD2 has issues a bit like a blue screen of death on an old Windows computer when faced with storage problems.

I.e. it works but crashes sometimes when it cannot store to its storage medium.

These things work for me
1) Turning the power on and off via the button underneath the screen.
2) Removing and re-inserting the SD card.
3) Turning the power on and off by removing the battery.
4) Using a different (and faster?) SD card.
I am still using my HD2, but I am finding that I must attempt solutions 1-3 about once a day.

It could be because the card I have been using recently is not fast enough. The HD2 accepts both SD and SDHC cards. My SDHC card (which is newer) seems to result in fewer problems, either because the SDHC format is more suited to the Xacti HD2 or becaues the SDHC card I have is faster that then SD card I have. I suspect problems with the speed of the card. I am using cheap SD cards.
