Sony Handycam DCR-PC109 Mini DV Digital Camcorder Logo

Sony dcr-pc109 My camera won't take pictures any more. The memory stick plays and deletes images just fine but all it does is capture the image, not record. This holds true both when I try to capture an image from the tape and when I try to take a picture. What is wrong?

P.S. It is a DCR-PC105, bought in 2003, not a 109, but this was the page that came up with the search.

Mine is not a battery problem--it is a memory stick problem. The battery works fine when I record film footage.

How to delete pictures?

Hi,

To delete the images from the Camera, press the Play button on the Camera to view the images. Display the images which you want to delete and press the DELETE button (Recycle Bin icon) located below the lower left of the Control buttons.
To delete multiple images, slide the index lever and select with the control buttons.
While the index screen is displayed, press the Delete button and select the images with the control buttons and select Enter button. Now, select the images which you want to delete and press the Enter button to display the Delete icon on the images. Press the Delete button again to delete all the images.
You can also delete all the images in the folder by selecting All in this Folder to delete the images.
To delete all the images in the Memory Stick you can select the Format option from the Internal Memory Tool or the Memory Stick Tool Menu to Format the Internal Memory or the Memory Stick.

I have format error on my cybershot camera. I need to access photoc on camera

Hi,

The Camera may display the FORMAT Error if the inserted media is not formatted or if the media was formatted on a computer. This error may also display if the inserted media is not supported by the Camera. The maximum supported capacity and media used is Memory Stick Pro Duo with 1 or 2 GB.
If you've already captured the images in the Camera and the error message displays, then try to open different images captured in the Camera and check if the message appears for all the images.
If this happens with all the images, then remove and reinsert the MS (Memory Stick) in the Camera and check if it works. You may also try cleaning the MS terminals and also check if the Internal Memory of the Camera displays the error. If the issue persists, then insert the MS in the Computer slot and transfer all the images to the Computer. If the images appear normally in the Computer, then Format the media in the Camera. To Format the Memory Stick, select the Format option in the Memory Stick Tool Menu of the Camera. (Menu-->Setup-->Memory Stick Tool-->Format)
Formatting the MS will delete all the files saved.

Formatting the MS should resolve the issue.

How to save a picture to a memory stick,,

Hi,

Even if the Memory Stick Duo is inserted in the Camera, the images will not be saved in the Memory Stick Duo until the capacity of the Internal Memory is full. To save the images in the Internal Memory to the Memory Stick Duo, select the EXPORT option from the Viewing Menu of the Camera. Touch the MENU icon when viewing images to select the IMPORT option.
There are two option in the Viewing Menu of the Camera (Export and Import). Export option is to save from Internal Memory to Memory Stick and Import is for saving from Memory Stick to the Internal Memory.
This Camera is having 4GB of Internal Memory, hence the images captured will get saved in the Internal Memory first and then to Memory Stick once the Internal Memory is full.

Problems with my Sony Cybershot W210

1) Make sure that you're not using more than 4 GB memory stick pro duo with the camera. Then try to remove the memory stick and capture 2 images in the internal memory and turn OFF and turn ON the Camera and check. If the error message comes, its the issue with the Camera itself and requires service after resetting. to reset the Camera, select Initialize under Main Settings 1 menu under Settings. if the issue persists, the camera may require service
If its working fine, transfer all the images to the Computer and format the memory stick. Formatting will delete all the contents. If the issue persists, memory stick should be replaced.

My camera deleted pictures on 3 different

You may try downloading and installing the Memory Stick File Rescue software in the Computer to recover the images if it is deleted from the Memory Stick or you may also contact the Drive Savers to recover the deleted images from the Camera.

I will forward a link to a page where you can get more information about the Drive Savers or the Sony Media Service Team.
