I have a Samsung LN52B610 and the remote menu and arrow buttons don't work. I used a universal one and opens the menu but the arrows still don't work. I set both to all the codes but still nothing.

Typically while I am (trying to) pontificate about how easy new sets are (if you are careful) ... I talk about the big circuit boards.

The fact is... there is a tiny power control board at the edge of your case.

Keeping in mind that 95% of all REMOTE FAILURES are TIRED BATTERIES...

Check those battery contacts... too
(seriously)

That tiny power control board has the all seeing REMOTE receiver on it.

The first thing I would do...
is clean the area at the edge of the case.

Failing that:
Get another Samsung remote (buy it or borrow it)... they ARE NOT that expensive.

Failing that...
I would buy that SAMSUNG <remote> Control circuit board.

Good luck & happy hunting

Re-program the remote control.
Programming Notes
• If your device does not respond to the remote after trying all codes listed or your brand is not listed in the code list, use the Auto Code
Search method to program your remote.
• Sometimes the first code that "works" with your device may operate only a few functions of your device. There may
be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality.

Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. One among it has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.
http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/
Search the site by type in the brand name of your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the Home page display" to see the set-up codes to your device, with different brand remote controls.

I have a 2008 LG 42LC5DC. The tuner is currently set to receive a cable box feed but I'm using antennae only and want to scan over the air channels. How can I get to the setup menu?

First set the input to TV if your cable box feed didn't come in on the RF cable. Press the Input button on the side of the TV (the second button from the bottom above the Power button). Alternatively press the Input TV button on the top left of the original remote. (You'll have to search through the inputs if you have a universal remote without the feature.) Next press the Menu button on the TV or on the remote, if you have the original remote/universal remote with the matching feature. On the original remote, the Menu button is above the OK button. The Menu button is the third button from the bottom (above the Input and Power buttons). Press the Menu button and then use the Up/Down arrows to navigate to Setup. (If you use the TV buttons, the Ch Up/Down buttons are Up/Down. The volume increase and decrease buttons are Left and Right.) Press the Right arrow key and then Use the Up/Down buttons to select EZ Scan. Press the Right arrow key again. Press the Right arrow key or Enter (on the remote) to launch the scan. You can find the screen shots of the Menu options and the button locations in the manual. The manual is available here: http://www.lg.com/us/commercial/documents/32lg505h-owner-manual.pdf .

I hope this helps.

How to get to menu then adjust it to antena?

First make sure that an antenna is connected the coaxial input on the TV and the input is set to TV. There is an Input button on the top of the TV and on the original remote. On the remote, the Input button is below and slightly to the right of the 0 button. On the top of the TV, the Input button is the one closest to the Power button. You can toggle through the Inputs by pressing the Input button several times or use the up/down arrows and then press the Input button to select the input. (TV should be the top item in the list.)

Next press the Menu button on the remote, above and to the right of the arrow keys. (There is no Menu button on the TV.) Use the left/right arrows to navigate to Setup. Next use the up/down arrows to select CH setup. Press Enter. If you've set a PIN, you'll need to enter it. Use the up/down arrows to select the line Air/Cable, if you need to change the source of your signal. Press Enter. Use the left/right arrows to select your source. Press Enter to save the setting. Press Menu to exit. Return to this CH setup menu and use the up/down arrows to select CH Search and press Enter. If you are using an OTA antenna, use the left/right arrows to select Start and press Enter. Wait for the search to be completed. For cable sources, you'd need to select from Analog Search Start or Digital and Analog Search Start. Press Cancel and then Enter to exit the search.

Crutchfield has the manual for the LC-32D62U available from the product page under the Details tab: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-mhRC3OB2Fi4/p_284LC32D62/Sharp-LC-32D62U.html . The direct link to the manual is http://d2stobyut4u5rx.cloudfront.net/ImageBank/v20080124174400/Manuals/284/284LC32D62.PDF . The Input button use is available on page 30 of the manual. The channel search steps are shown on page 23.

I hope this helps. Please note, if you have an replacement universal remote, you may need to try multiple codes for Sharp TVs to get the Menu button to work. If your replacement remote doesn't have a Menu button or none of the codes work, then you'll need a different remote.

Hi, You need a code to match with your TV remote. The codes for the Ge universal remote for Sanyo are 0049 0097 0110 0004 0268 0012 0108 0180. You will have to try each code seperately untill you get one that works. Good luck.

I unfortunately do not have the remote or the manual, is there a way i can increase the screen size of whats playing? its coming up square, with 2 black bars on the sides. id like to go full screen.

Without the remote, press the Menu button on the side of the TV. Select Picture Mode and then scroll to Screen Format (second item) and select that. Use the left right arrow to try different formats. Press Menu repeatedly to exit the menu system.

Use the ch + and ch - buttons to go up and down. Use the Vol + button to mimic the left arrow and the Vol - button for the right arrow. Press Menu again to select an item or for OK.

The manual is available from the manufacturer. The direct link for the English version is: http://support.ttetech.com/RCATV/Assets/PDFs/L32HD31_E001A_IB_e-08.pdf . If the direct link doesn't work, start here: http://support.ttetech.com/en-us/productdownloads.html and use the drop down menu to select 32" TV and then L32HD31.

If you would like a replacement remote, try here: http://www.rca.newremotecontrol.com/catalog_item.php?catnum=275576 . Otherwise, most universal remotes will work the basic functions if they were programmed 6 months or more after the TV was released. However, you probably will want one that can match the Format (Left arrow) button as well as the input button. This probably will not be available in the most basic universal remotes. (It is guaranteed to be in those remotes that can be programmed through a USB connection to a computer.)

I hope this helps.

I have a universal remote for a sony kv20 fv12 tv- i need to reset the channels (there are only 6 available) but i do not have the sony remote- can I somehow "run" through all the channels again?

Yes. If the universal remote has the menu button that works for your TV, you can use that. Otherwise there is a Menu button on the front of the TV. It's behind a cover panel - in the area with a headphone jack and the Video 2 inputs.

Press Menu to get the Onscreen Menu display. Press the Right arrow button to highlight Setup (it's the furthest right icon). Then press the Down arrow button to highlight Options. Press either the Right arrow button or + to select. Then navigate to Cable (down arrow) and press the right arrow or +. Then use the up or down arrow to select On (CATV) or Off (OTA) depending on your TV connection. Press the Left arrow or +. Then highlight Autoprogram and press the right arrow or + again. This begins the channel scan.

Note that this tv has a NTSC tuner (analog). You'll need a set top box with a digital (ATSC) tuner to receive most stations these days (US). Only low power stations were allowed to keep broadcasting in analog after June 2009 in the US. The changeover date is in Aug 2011 for Canada.

A copy of the manual for your TV is available here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=KV20FV12 as a pdf.

I hope this helps.
