How do I fix my snow thrower that smokes when it is started

First thing is to drain the old gas from the carburetor, there should be one bolt on the bottom of the float bowl. You might need to run a small piece of wire through the main jet also.

It can be used, although the manufacturer recommends;

Hmmm... THAT sounds like you have an obstruction (ice???) in the fuel line or in the bottom of the tank.

the choke is stuck so remove the cover and look for the choke to see why it,s not movin

I would suggest taking a look at this Noma Snow Thrower Manual. Well I just noticed it isn't quite the right one, but maybe it will work?

check the bearings in the auger sounds like the froze up and now they need to be replaced (the smoking you saw was from the belts slipping on the pullies)..good luck

i just purchased the poulan pro PR1030ES snow thrower, and the recoil spring is broken, anyone know of a place to buy a new one...can't even get an answer from poulan...did you ever get yours fixed

sounds like the coil is going bad.

Did you check under the handle area, near the blower itself for a transmission lever? This will engage & disengage the transmission.
