HI,
First of all try to know is its not the problem of the cable provider or not. If not then try to auto tune the TV. As you have didn't mentioned anything about the brand and model number its not possible to add how to do it. if you don't have the manual of the tv , here i have added a link from which you can find out the manual for your tv.

Lcd tv goes blue screen

Blue Screen usually means you have no video source, but also it can be a bad cable, bad signal, or week signal. I will try to hook it up to a dvd and test it on another source. However the screen should be all blue aand not blue lines, if you can email me a photo of the screen I will be able to properly address it.

I have the system hooked up and it comes on but not o the tv screen do i need the hd cable to make it work it is a flat screen tv please let me know what to do i have playstation 2 already hooked up and...

Are you using the AV connector cable? If so look on your tv for an av channel. Best thing to do though is Try using a HDMI cable. Most tv's recognise when a HDMI cable is plugged in and the tv switches automatically to the HD channel.
Hope this helps.

What outlets do I hook up to on the reciever and the tv for it to play on regular tv stations

Cable Box optical Digital Audio to Coby Digital Audio In. (This brings TV-related multi-channel and normal audio into the Coby so you can hear it over the speakers. Turn TV volume OFF.

The cable box probably has a pair of stereo Audio Out RCA jacks. Run those directly to the TV so you can watch and hear cable programming over the TV's speakers without having to turn the Coby on. Turn TV volume UP.

Depending on your TV's Video In capabilities, use the Cable Box Component (Red, Blue and Green), or Composite Video (single Yellow associated with the Audio Out) directly attached to the TV.

Picture is all green tones when on a station ... but when it is on the tv guide chanel the colors are all great except for the little square display of the station it is tuned to drsantucci4

I have the same tv with the same problem ---Green and I have found that the HDMI cable from my Blue rayplayer works just fine when the regular tv is green /I have come to the conclusion that the digital board is not working right so I just went to cox and got the box . I am going to hook my cable up to the top set box from cox and then I am going to hook the component video cables to the tv then I will bypass the Board ,and not scew the cable into the tv . we shall see I think it will work as long as my HDMI and component jacks dont give out to .

TV is hooked up to cable, but only blue screen and a/v appear.

Okay...you have a place on your remote which says input or tv/vcr or something like that. You may also have an input menu. You've got to find that. Right now, you're set on one or more of the component (a/v) inputs your set has. You've got to move that back to the tv input. If you are using a cable input or antenna input...these use one connector with a screw on fitting on it.

If you have a tv that does not have cable input...antenna cable, you'll need a balun adapter. Available at any electronics store. If you're trying to input rca style plugs...not every tv has this...especially if more than 10 years old.

Black borders

Check the resolution settings on your cable box, you may have to call your cable provider to find out how to get into the settings menu, there is a stretch function in the settings that should make all the lower channels auto fit your screen, also see if there's a p=size button on your remote control, try pushing that when on the channels that have sidebars.
