SOURCE: Hotpoint Ice diamond fridge freezer both green & red lights on.?

bulmer...it takes about two days to fully defrost these units unless you take the freezer section cover off and use a heat source. If you do...be sure to protect yourself against water and electricity mixing....not healthy. See below for another note.

clean the condenser coils below the unit.

check for the amount of gas in the unit. It must be off for half an hour. Remove the back fiber panel. The big thing is the compressor. Clean off the largest pipe coming out of it. Plug the unit in...watch out for the fan! The pipe should frost up and then clear off or stay wet after about 5 minutes. It should not be frosty. If it is, you need refrigerant.

Note: If you do remove the inside freezer panel and defrost, you can see how much refrigerant you have in your unit. Start the unit. Wait 5 minutes and observe the coils. They should be evenly frosted end to end. If approximately so, you're good. If not, you're low on gas.

SOURCE: freezer door rubbing

take the freezer door off and put a washer or two on the bottom hinge. sometimes there are extra plastic washers on the top hinge that you can move to the bottom to lift it up.
also check if the hinge is bent or loose, as this may cause the problem.

SOURCE: Bottom freezer door/drawer won't close all the way on one side.

Remove all the food from the freezer and then the drawer from the cabinet. Now using a silicone based lubricant, lube the tracks up real well. Be sure to clean the tracks first if gunked up. Make sure nothing small fell out of the basket over time and is laying on the floor in the rear of the freezer section. Once done, you should be fine.

Why is the freezer not defrosting?

If it is a frost free freezer check that the door is closing properly and the seals are in good contact when the door is shut. Sometimes, when a door is not shut properly ice will build up, even in a no frost freezer

My GE Refrigerator doesn't work properly.

The two main causes for your problem is the control set wrong and the second one isthe defrost element has burned out... Sometime the defrost clock will go out as well.... always try to set your controls to midrange and if the bottom of the freezer compartment is cold and frosty but the refrigerator is cold ... Remove all the food and store in a backup refrigerator you can rent from an appliance rental center... Unplug your refrigerator and let it defrost for 48 hours.... In the mean time open up the doors and clean it from top to bottom. place a fresh opened box of arm and hammer baking soda in the frige side and one in the freezer side. Plug back in after completely deftosted and place a small plastic cup half filled with water on each shelf of the freezer. Close the doors and wait 8 hours... Open the freezer and check the plastic cups.... if they are all frozen great..now wait for 3 days do the test again if the bottom cup is frozen and the top shelf is not ... its time for a new defrost element or a defrost timer.

W10224328 Dispenser Door Spring
ccde7cf6-a718-42c1-a6aa-4bd5f57dd0ed.jpg
The chute door is the reason your ice bin is freezing up and also the chute door being open draws warm moist air inside your freezer compartment causing massive amounts of frost and keeps the compressor runing all the time between defrost. You really n eed to get the chute door fixed. What is the correct model number? For the model KSRX25FT dispenser parts click HERE The chute door spring may be broken but you will not know untill you open the dispenser housing. I'm here should you post the correct model number or have questions, Sea Breeze

Refridgerator side is not cooling and freezer is wroking fine

1st i must get you to look for some symptoms look on back wall (inside) of freezer. Is there "sno-cone" type frost? yes? defrost problem. heater, defrost thermostat or defrost timer or adaptive defrost control. no? is fan running? is evaporator coil cold ,frosty? no fan but cold frosty coil(that's frosty but not frosted up) then bad fan motor probably. you need volt meter, and know how to use it. otherwise call a tek.

Replaced the defrost heater, defrost thermostat, worked good for about 3

If the icemaker refill solenoid does not close properly or stays open too long excess water enters freezer compartment and that will freeze over the ice making machine plus other areas of freezer. There is an adjustment on the ice maker to regulate the amount of water going in - locate the screw (behind front panel of maker) and turn counter clockwise to lessen time of fill operation). Problem is not with the GE

My amana abb2522few1 fridge is not getting cold but freezer works fine.. Freezer fan is working as well.. Please help.. Thanks

either the damper vent door is stuck/frozen or broken in the closed position and cant let cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator, its located between the freezer and refrigerator compartments,or if theres a icy frosty buildup on the inside rear freezer wall panel, then the evaporator is frozen over and cold air cant be blown down to the refrigerator, then it becomes a defrost problem, remove this panel and test defrost heater element and thermostat and power to these components or the defrost timer or A.D.C. circuitry that supplies power to these components

Maytag MBB1954GES not cold. Fresh food area warm, motor not on. Freezer OK.

Check the freezer fan is running with the door switch pushd in by hand, check the back wall of the freezer for frosting if it's frosty check the defrost system eg defrost element, Defrost termination stat and defrost timer. If the freezers running perfect check the fridge difuser/damper and see if it's open this is the part that opens and closes the vent between the freezer and fridge to allow cold air into the fridge. The Damper is up the top left corner of the fridge. cheers.

GE Monogram Fridge/Freezer

A frosty freezer in the back panel is an indication of a defrost failure issue. Problem may lie in the the control board, heater or defrost terminator. The problem usually is a broken defrost element. Hope that helps :)
