I HAVE A HARMON /KARDON FL8385 AND THE CD DRAWER WON'T COME OUT. IT SHOWS "ERROR" AND SIMPLY WON'T DO ANYTHING ELSE. NOTHING SHOWS AND A STICKING SOUND SEEMS TO BE PRESENT.
PLEASE HELP...
Our FL8380 shows a disc error and the drawer will not open, but a mechaism is moving inside - it can be heard. What are we to do? Is there a simple solution to this? Our FL8380 shows a disc error and the drawer will not open, but a mechaism is moving inside - it can be heard. What are we to do? Check its fuse at the power supply section. If found opened, never insert an other one, till the fault has been rectified. Without any fault, the fuse won't go out. Try this to understand.
It turned out that a CD had slid past the drawer and into the case of the CD player. Once I removed it everything was fine. I should point out that mine is *not* a 5-disc drive, but a single-disc drive, model HD 950.
Hi sheawm. You can use your speakers as long they have the mini-plug connector such as ipods, blackberrys, laptops, desktops, etc. so it won´t matter. I hope this helps.
Modern electronics stay in standby mode when you turn them off because certain circuitry must remain powered up to be alert for remote control signals. In essence its always awake looking for the remote to send a signal at which time it will turn on the rest of the circutry and fully power up the unit. It is not a fire hazard and the LED's used now days have lifetimes of several thousand hours. You can plug it into the switched outlet on your reciever if you wanted to. However be sure that you do not exceed the rated wattage for the switched outlets. You can determine this by figuring out the rated wattage for the outlet(s) as it will show this rating near them and it will show the wattage required by your cd player on the back of the unit somewhere near the power cord.
Try taking the unit apart it mostlikly jamed or jumped track try re ajusting it that would prob work, another thing is to try messing with the gears that could aslo work
