RCA RT27760: Audio cuts out

The problem: the audio suddenly cuts out. Turning the amp off, waiting 15 seconds or so and turning it back on will usually restore the audio, but only for a few minutes, then it cuts out again. I’ve eliminated all wiring and component media players as the problem, and I’m convinced the trouble is in the amp itself. When it cuts out, you can hear the same audible “thunk” that you hear when you switch it off, or change functions.

I have been having the exact same problem. I tried contacting RCA customer support, which forwarded me to Audiovox customer support and their reply was that they don't handle the RT2760 model number.. they gave me another phone number to call, but it's the weekend and I got the "our offices are closed" message. Anyway, does anybody have any idea what's going on with our units?

Why does my receiver start stop producing audio output half an hour after turning it on?

Most likely is an intermittent solder connection opening up as set warms up.

Radio quits after 15-30 seconds

without more detailed info, quick suggestion - thermal fault, if all TX audio works when in this fault condition, it may be fair to assume audio IC is ok and check electrolytic capacitors and dry joints.

I have a Kenwood KRF v5200d audio video control center that worked great for 2 years . It is just out of warranty and is now giving problems. It turns on for about 15 seconds and then cut out and goes into...

i'm not the perfect expert in this but did you try removing all speaker, rca,s video, etc from the back and seeing if something maybe back feeding to the receiver. the red light blinking usually means its detecting a short somewhere and it goes in a fail safe mode to prevent more damage. if it stays on with everything disconnected the problem is with something else. try them one at a time to isolate the problem. hope this helps thank you.

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty. Your amp is clipping. Amp powers up, then shuts down 15 seconds later...

Which lights are lit on top of the amp when you power it up?

Which ones light up during the 15 seconds that it's on?

Are you running a signal sensing system or are you turning the amp on via the remote lead?

Is the signal sensing switch set to on or off?

Audio fuzzy or cuts out

Could have a loose connection in the audio section or a problem with the output IC . Also does this happen on the RF input and your A/V inputs or just one of these. If its the A/V inputs only your having this problem check your cables .

Amp cuts off

So you have an EQ and a Pioneer amp you're trying to hook up to each other? And only some Stinger RCA cable works? And when the lightning audio RCA cable is hooked up, it doesn't turn on? The amp isn't grounding itself through the RCA cables, is it? Check your ground wire and make sure it has a clean contact that's free of rust or any paint that might be in the way. Otherwise, the RCA cables should have nothing to do with an amp turning on or not.
