Lately this TV has started showing wrong colors in different parts of the screen. Occasionally it would work alright, but most of the time wrong colors are shown. It started off as an occasional problem, but over time frequency of occurrence has increased.
Sometimes this would be because of T-CON going bad.
Sometimes it would be due to panel going bad and sometimes it may even be because of a bad connection in the LDVS cables between main board and panel - see if moving them affects picture.
The most common reason we have seen, though, is developing issue on the main board, which usually manifests in completely losing image (sound still works).

Find someone in an area that the Company will ship to and send them the money to get the replacement board. then give them the shipping address and have them send it to you . I would be willing to help if all it will cost me is the time. You would have to take care of the E-Bay Bill and The shipping costs from my location to yours.

SOURCE: LG LCD TV - Buzzing Sound and Faint Horizontal Lines
From your description, the sound you are hearing is the inverter(s) that drive the back light for the LCD screen/module.
The inverters mounted on the back side (one lower right and one left side) of the LCD screen/module. They are under the sheet metal cover/shields.
The inverters are going out and or the LCD screen/module is going bad too.
That LG TV has only a 1 year on parts and labor from the date of purchase, but you could call LG and ask for their help for such a new TV. They might do it under a warranty, for little or no cost to you.
I hope this information has helped you.
Good Luck.
