SOURCE: My ACER tablet (ICONIA

Hi,
Welcome to Fixya. I would like to know if the wifi works before? If the laptop was able to detect and connect to a wireless signal and the Iconia won't you can check the warranty of the Iconia and call acer and they will be able to replace the unit. This is a common issue with Iconia that some of the device has a hardware wifi defect. You can also refer to the link below and see what happen with their Iconia and was able to talk to acer for a replacement.

Cannot turn the tablet on

Press and hold down the on/off button for 40 seconds and then press it again. See if that unlocks it.

Acer iconia tab a200 gets stuck on the "iconia tab" screen.

Hi, could be hardware or software issue. If its hardware failure you may need to replace the motherboard which can get expensive. The power button fell off the motherboard of my A500. Tried to fix myself but stuffed it, official Acer spares wanted $617 for a new motherboard not including fitting, I found a factory refurbished one on eBay for $130 & had my local PC store fit it for $99 so it always pays to do some research.

I'd imagine the problem is corrupt or lost boot data though, which can happen if you've had to reset. I've had to fix this issue myself with no previous developer experience. Check out the XDA forum for your device.

All the info, guides & links you need should be there, its just a matter of working out what posts & comments are relevant to you. Just remember many people have done this before so they have had the same issues you may encounter so check all comments. If you cant find the answers you need, sign up & comment your problem or create your own thread. As long as you be polite (please/thanks) they are normally willing to help. Failing that offer to make a small donation. It can be time consuming but save you lots of dollars.

Acer tab A200

You may have to perform a reset if your tablet fails to respond when buttons are pressed or the screen is tapped. To reset your tablet use a small thin object (such as a paperclip) to press the recessed reset button.

Or do Clean Boot to restore the Acer Iconia Tab A501 factory default settings.
  • Open Settings from the application menu, then tap Privacy > Factory data reset.
  • Click Reset tablet and then Erase everything to format your tablet.
