Resetting to Factory Defaults / Clearing the Memory

You can selectively clear information stored in your machine's memory.

1. Press Menu on the control panel until Maintenance appears on the top line of the display.
2. Press the scroll buttons until you see Clear Memory on the the bottom line and pressEnter.
The first available menu item, Paper Setting, displays on the bottom line.
3. Press the scroll buttons until you see the item you want to clear.
   • Paper Setting: Restore all of the Paper Setting options to the factory default.
   • Copy Setup: Restores all of the Copy Setup options to the factory default.
   • Fax Setup: Restores all of the Fax Setup options to the factory default.
   • Fax Feature: Cancels all of the scheduled fax jobs in the machine's memory.
   • Advanced Fax: Restores all of the Advanced Fax setting options to the factory default.
   • Sound/Volume: Resets the sound and volume settings to the factory default.
   • Machine Setup: Resets all of the system settings, such as the machine ID, date and time, display language and save modes, to the factory default.
   • Set Report: Clears all records of your faxes sent.
   • RCV Report: Clears all records of your faxes received.
   • Phone Book: Clears the speed dial or group dial numbers stored in the memory.
4. Press Enter. The selected memory is cleared and the display asks you to continue clearing the next item.
5. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to clear another item.
ORTo return to Standby Mode, press Stop/Clear.

Settings

Resetting the printer to factory default settings can be useful when

you are troubleshooting with the printer.

CAUTION Resetting factory defaults clears the page buffer, removes downloaded

fonts and macros, and returns all print menu settings to factory defaults.

To reset the printer to factory default settings

1 Press MENU until RESETS MENU displays.

2 Press ITEM until RESTORE FACTORY SETTINGS displays.

3 Press SELECT until the following message appears:

RESTORING

FACTORY SETTINGS

This message displays until the printer has completed the
initialization

P stands for program in computer algorthms. The device displays program whenver chages were made to the default settings. A powered on devices least has malfunction only requires reseting to attaon default features. Depending on the type of device, reset would be a button that is pressed held for an extensive duration to clear the entire corrupted data to make way for default. Refer to the device user guide also for further asssistance.

1. Start the BRAdmin Professional utility, by clicking Start => All Programs or Programs => Brother Administrator Utilities => Brother BRAdmin Professional Utilities => BRAdmin Professional.
2. From the main BRAdmin screen double click the appropriate printer.
3. Enter the print server password (The default password is "access").
4. Click the Control tab
5. Click the Restore Factory Defaults button
6. Click the OK button when you have read the warning message.
7. The print server will then reset back to its default values.

Via a web browser
Because web based management requires the TCP/IP protocol for communication, any reset option you see when managing the machine with a web browser, will not reset the IP address details that are set. If you wish to totally reset all the print server parameters we recommend you reset the print server by using the BRAdmin application.

To reset the print server (excluding TCP/IP parameters) follow these steps:

1. Connect to the printer using a web browser.
2. Click Network Configuration.
3. Enter the print server password (the print server password is detailed in the user guide for the print server) if it's applicable.
4. Click the Set Default link or Reset Print Server.

Via the control panel (only for network ready models)

1. Make sure the machine is not operating, then disconnect all the cables from the machine (except power cable).
2. Press the Menu or Menu/Set key on the control panel.
3. Press up or down navigation key to select LAN or Network and press Set, Menu/Set or OK.
4. Press up or down navigation key to select Factory Reset or Network Reset and press Set, Menu/Set or OK.
5. Select Reset.
6. Select Yes.
7. The machine will re-start, re-connect cables once this is complete. please rate it
   

This means there is a problem in the software of the machine.
You can try resetting the factury defaults. Turn the machine off.
Press and hold > , v and V .
Turn on the printer.
Release the buttons when resetting defaults displays
If this doesn't help than replace the systemboard.

6.Press Ready

The software for your calculator may need to be updated. You can get the update from the manufacture's website under the download or support tab.
