Sony Bravia 46" It is 6+ years old and the color is completly out of reality has only blue,green and white and black . is this normal aging or fixable .

Probably bad TCON board if Mainboard did not fix issue.

I find it unlikely this is normal.

I am not a betting man but..........

What I would do is invest the time to contact Sony customer service and talk to someone who can access their database.

They like other major companies keep extensive records of every complaint recorded---see if anyone else had this issue.

Sony has had some beauties---Recently an issue where heat warps the door made of plastic in front of the lamp resulted not in a free part but free repair and or replacement of the 3-4 year old sets involved.

Try the flat cable from t-con board to main. I have had several that just had a loose connector. Also if set is less than 12 months old it can be repaired at no cost by a Sony service center. If it is only a few months out of the warranty contact Sony customer relations and ask for a concession repair.

When the color of the screen is complete green, you should not worry. That is the normal color that should be on the screen when no program is coming in because the cable box is off. So simply press OK on the remote of your digital box and your will see picture on your TV. If none appeared, then there is problem on your cable box. Call then your service provider.

Depending where you got it It's probably still under warranty.I know Bestbuy usually offers 1 year free.My tv had red lines running through it and they said it was something to do with a climate part that they did not have so I was sent to pick out a new Tv.Good luck

change out your box. thats why they rent them. they anticipate your going to have issues thats why they rent them. i have gone through about 12 boxes over 5 years. change res to 1080i

Try to set your video output settings on your dvd player . I assume you used to connect to your old tv by using svideo and now you are using another connection like component, scart or hdmi.If the video output setttings on your dvd are still on svideo you will have to set it to rgb or component or else you will get black and white images..

Just respect the colors. Green output from the dvd to green input tv, Red output from the dvd to red input tv and the same with blue. All 3 cables (green , red, blue) are for the picture, so you got to plug another 2 for the sound.
