Most often caused by a bad fan relay. This is a complicated system. Read the post below and download the GM wiring diagrams. Then check the fuses and relays. All 3 relays must be in perfect working order for the system to work properly. Car overheats Ricks Free Auto Repair Advice
Hi Ryan, check the fuse to the low beam, if your not getting power to the relay it will never work, the fact that you have 3 new relays they can't all be duff
check the 25 amp fuse that had fan rad on it . Check the fuses under the dash. Finally replace the fan switch in the head as it may not be communicating with the CPU to put power through the fan relay
you will need to change your relay most likely in your fuse box ,,put some glasses on to see the fuse diagram to find your relay ...change it ,,,it is wearing out and causing your fan to kick off and on
Because there is no supply to the fan , it is not working. So you need to check the fan with a direct link to test , is working check the RELAY box for the fan relay, next check on the thermistor, the control circuit of the temperature controller to trigger the fan relay. Also check on the fuse to the relay unit.
The AC cooling must be checked only after this circuit is working as a hot engine will not give a good result. cehck the gas pressure, check the pumping pressure to confirm the compressor.
Also the eveporator, condenser, pressure switch must be checked independantly.
there are 4 steps to check and you've mentioned all but one the relay which cuts the fan on'off. At an elec shop you check in this order power to fuse block, fuse & output side, temp sensor, relay, and fan motors. Get a new relay
There should be a relay--probably in the engine compartment relay box or along the firewall. Try swapping the fan relay with a similar relay, such as the horn relay and see if the fan will come on. You can also check the wiring from the relay socket. Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6022358-relay_check . If you get stuck, please get back to me.
Could be a relay switch, check the fuse area and look for a larger square looking fuse or have it checked but get used one at wrecking yard,,real cheep there. Relays are fairly expensive new. About $20 bucks each. I've bought some at wreckers for just a few dollars. Easy to install, like a fuse. Hope this helps.
