The TV does not have persay a code. A universal remote has different codes which should be in the owners manuel for the remote, google the remote control model to see a copy of the remote manuel.
hello try a factory reset. turn on the tv while holding the reset button on the remote control, press the power button on the tv, the tv will turn itself off and back on again release the reset button
go to walmart and buy the new phillips universal remote for $9.96 and search the code manually and it will find it....the channel up and down as well as the volume up and down will work on the arrow keys instead but at least you can use the remote.
Try putting the cables back where they were. After that re-route them again but this time use the manuel.
If that doesn't work, consult the TV's manuel.
The IR sensor is right below the Sony emblem. If you're really curious you can find a site that offers service manuals and order one. It will get you schematics and tell you exactly where everything is.
Also, if you get everything up and running and decide you need to replace your lamp, check out xl2100u-lamp.com. I haven't ordered from there yet, but it looks promising.
