Hello, I had the Same problem with the failed start up and the power cut out. The green flashing light, then the orange, then the red (3) Three Times. This all started when I hooked up my Computer to the Sony KF-60we610, TV to Watch a movie. The Computer when Hooked up by S Video, I think Interrupted the Start up sequence and then could not initialize. Thus the 3 red lights and the powering down of the fan. I Unplugged my Sony KF-60we610, TV from the power Surge bar for about an hour, then re-plugged it again in the wall outlet. I Turned the TV on again by pressing the button on the TV and then Pressed the reset button on the remote and it re- initialized. Like Magic, It went on. Thank you for your post, I hope this helps because I used these posts to help me.
Lamp Mats $99.00 1-800-628-1118
what are lamp mats?
It means, you need to replace the Lamp- Mats Electronics is no longer selling Lamps for Sony
Look on Ebay for Lamp Part Number XL-2100U
3 blinks means the lamp cover is not secured properly over the lamp. there is a safety switch that the lamp cover hits that will not allow the tv to operate if the switch is not depressed. if the lamp is blown, the lamp light will be on but take the front panel off and make sure the lamp cover is on right. sometimes they melt a little due to the high temperature of the lamp themselves. you can order a new lamp cover from sony for short money or do what i did, get a pair of cutters and snip away the melted part. safer bet is to order a new one but im poor so i do what i can with what i have.
