I put in movie DVD, it starts loading. The loading time takes extra long, and then it says NO DISC even though there is a disc in player.

Everytime I put a disk in (i've tried many) it says loading for a long time and then goes to no disk. My disks play in other players just fine.

We put in a DVD and it signaled it was loading for a long time and then said no disc. Same results with different discs even though they work in other players.

I put in a DVD and it ssaid it was loading for a long time and then said no disc. I put in different discs even though they work in other players with the same results - no disc. I used canned air to blow out the disc tray and inside, still didn't work.

The player indicates it is loading the DVD, it tries to read it, but after a minute or so, indicates there is "no disc" I tried this with several discs that play on another player.

I took the cover off. Moved the lense to the outer edge with my finger. Then rubbed the lense with a q-tip soaked in eye drop fluid (rubbing alcohol would work better). Then wiped it with the dry end. Works greats now!

Need more info, but did you try with another movie dvd? have you clean it with a cleaner dvd, blow some dry air by the port of the tray when it is open(could by a can in radio shack), if everything dosent funcion, then, you need a tech, the disc is not runing or the reading sistem has damage...good luck

Despite the fact that there is a warenty invalid if broken sticker on the back, I opened mine up anyway. I thoroughly cleaned with can air. Later noticed that the track that holds the motor that makes the disc spin wasn't moving. It suspose but it wasn't so I gently nudged it to the right, popped in a disc and it worked fine. My problem is I got up and I tried to move it off my lap and place it back on the stand stumbled and dropped the player. So after it dangled from the cord and smashed into the entertainment center it won't come on at all now, but it did work prior to my clumsiness.

Our DVD player stops several time during a movie. This even happens on new movies. What can we do about this?

Tries websites like, buy a set that call a DVD or CD disc laser eye cleaner.Used it might help.If still happening than the laser eye itself it is dying and to be dead soon.DVD players that are having laser eyes are dying or don't read DVD or CD disc like say no disc all the time. Are not repairable except replaced the whole laser eye data's reader itself not practical, because u can a whole new basic DVD player just the same prices or even cheaper. These day a basic DVD players u can buy it like $40 brand new at any major box retailers stores like Walmart,Target..extra.

Movies are freezing

it depends on the condition of your dvds and how old your player is.
try using a DVD disc cleaner. This cleaner looks just like a disc with some extra little brushes on its surface. Some DVD cleaner kits even come with supplies to clean and modify scratches on your discs. if this dont work you may want to get a new player..

please leave a fixya rating as thats how we get paid...

Trouble Loading & Not Registering To TV

I can't say 100% but it sounds similar to the problem I had with the same model . The sleep mode in the on/off switch had gone bad and a new switch fixed the problem. It was about $42 to rtepair at my local electronics repair shop. Hope this helps.

Well I have been repairing dvd players a while now and the main problem spots are laser ,spindle motor, laser tracking motor and the biggest culprit and un suspecting one the lens cable .....most of them range from the lens cable to the spindle motor though... the constant movement of the lens in watching a whole movie causes the cable to unknowingly and slowly break and if the spindle motor is defective ,on inserting a dvd the disc spins slowly and you may hear the lens chirping ... so you can check those....
