Yes. You can hook it up using a digital coax or optical cable. Use can also use old stereo, analog, left and right channel audio. Use any audio input on your Technics, that will accept any of the inputs above.

How to get sound from digital coaxial output? Trying to hookup to surround sound system but getting no sound

Digital out put needs a digital input to go into. You also need to set up your television to use the digital sound. That is in the audio menu.

Can i hook pioneer speakers from a system to my lg flat screen

Absolutely! To provide a better solution to your problem, however, you will need to provide model numbers of your TV and surround sound system. Depending on the available hookups and your hardware, you may need a received to make everything compatible.

What type of speakers can i add direct to tv without using a amp/receiver?

Unless it has a hookup for external speakers do not do it---speakers must match inpedance of original speakers, wrong speakers can result in damage to audio circuit of set, cause reduced sound levels etc.

A inexpensive surround sound system might be a option......

Hooking up Wii with monster cable kit to Onkyo SR875 and Mits 73" HD TV. I cannot get sound through receiver. What am I doing wrong? I can hear the sound through the WiiMote, but no sound through my...

If the Monster cable kit is in fact compatible with the Wii, continue with the following instructions. Otherwise use the Wii connectors.

This is only one connection method for your equipment but the easiest and requires the use of only one additional cable.

Connect the audio and video cables from the Wii directly to your television. Then connect an audio cable from the "variable audio out" or "audio out" from the television to the audio input of your choice on the receiver. Then select that input on the receiver. Then select the input on your TV that you plugged the Wii into. Enjoy.

I just bought a onkyo hts5200 and I can't seem to get the sound to work with my ps3. Is their any secrets I need to know? I have hooked it up according to their diagram for HDMI AV component hookup. I...

If you are using the hdmi hookup, then you will also need to use either a composite or coaxial cable for the sound. Yes I know this "sounds" crazy, but I had the same problem for both the cable and bluray set ups with this receiver. I thought the hdmi would work for both the picture and sound but for some reason the hdmi only works for the picture with this receiver. I bought mine from Crutchfield and without their tech service I would never have guessed this was the problem. (I never would have purchased this receiver if I knew this was the design problem/issue.) Good quality composite cables for the sound works just fine.

Connecting my inspire 5.1 to use with my sat/tv system

radelle1967,
I had originally bough these speakers for the sole purpose of connecting them to my 26" LCD Vizio television. I quickly realized that these speakers were not made for a television, so I just kept them connected to my desktop PC.
However, one day I asked my buddy from college to look at them and see what he thought. It took him a while to figure it out, but here is how I have them hooked up.
I can not guarantee that this will work on any other television set, but it does on mine. On the back of my Vizio television there is a hookup called "optional audio," which is located beneath the yellow, red, and white hookups. I hooked a 3-way headphone splitter into the "optional audio" hookup and then plugged the three cables from the speakers into the splitter.
Hooking up your speakers like this works very good and the sound is equally distributed between all speakers. However, there is a setting on my television under the sound menu that enables you to turn "surround" on. I had been told that by using a 3-way headphone splitter I wouldn't be able to get true surround sound, but turning on this option on my television actually allows this to be accomplished.

Hope this works for you. I purchased the 3-way splitter at radioshack and it was under $10. If your television does not have an "optional audio" hookup, you could probably try an RCA connector with just the red and white hookups that split into one and then connect the 3-way splitter to that.

Sound

I'm assuming you you have a basic TV to receiver hookup. Make sure you have the TV audio video output going to the receiver input.
