Some sergers will unthread themselves if the thread is not threaded through the throat plate right. Especially the lower looper because there is not a lot of space for it to move. Try bringing the thread from the looper straight up through the hole in the throat plate, not to the side of the plate. You can also talk to the professionals at the link that I have attached. They are very helpful and easy to work with. Good luck Sewing Machine Repair Repair Sewing Machines Sewing Machines Repair Fix...

Do I oil a Singer Ultralock 14u34?

The 14U34 does not need to be oiled by the user.

Most Singer manuals are available here: http://www.singerco.com/support/instruction-manuals . The direct link to the manual for the Ultralock 14U34 is: http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/664_14u34b,234b.pdf .

I hope this helps.

My serger is not looping at all. I changed the needles and nothing is working.

Start with the threading sequence. Upper looper, lower looper, left needle, right needle. Your upper & lower loopers must be threaded before your needles or it won't make the stitch. If it still doesn't work, it's out of time and will need to be taken in to a shop.

I have a singer ultralock 14u34 - the right needle thread keeps coming undone. anyone have a fix for this??

"Coming undone" What do you mean? Is it breaking while sewing? Is it too short and is slipping back through the needle?

If it's breaking, try changing the needle. If i's slipping back... give it some length when you thread.... and at the end of a seam Run it out... 10 inches before you cut it off close to the fabric. That little bit of thread waste will make you feel much better about your serger.

I had to rethread my Singer Ultralock serger and now it won't sew correctly. Best I can tell the lower looper keeps coming unthreaded, but this doesn't happen until I put material in. I have rethreaded it...

I had read where someone said their lower looper tension dial had pulled apart. Sure enough, mine had too. We snapped it back together and Voila problem solved!

Could not adjust both looper thread tention on singer ultralock

When servicing these machines I have found that the cover over the tensioners needs to be removed so you can see if there is more adjusting possible. If its a newer serger you would hold the knob somewhere in the middle (4-5) and adjust the knurled part that goes through it. Many times I have had to rebuild these tensioners as they get dirty and need cleaning and adjusting. It may take many tries until you have it adjusting correctly. But it needs to be done.
