It seems you have not install the driver for the WLAN, I'll suggest you to download the proper driver for your Network connection from the official Accer website and install it. I hope after installing it'll work for you back.

Some reasons why wifi stops working is due to corrupted driver or defective WLAN card. There are some ways on how to diagnose this problem, just reinstall the driver and configure it again with the wireless access point. You can download the WLAN driver for this particular system by visiting this link. You will notice that on the Networking Wireless LAN section it has 2 types of WLAN card, Broadcom and Intel. Just try to install the Broadcom driver because this is compatible with XP. If you're not sure what is the model of your WLAN just check it under device manager and look for Network adapter. After downloading, install the .exe file then restart the system. You can now configure again the computer to your router.

First rule-of-thumb, don't trust windows updates for drivers. With that being said, you should find out what the chipset of that Atheros card really is. Download a program called Unknown Devices, by Halfdone. Install the program and run it. It will tell you the actual chipset. Then google search that chipset with the words "xp driver" after it. You should also look at the list and see what the bluetooth type is in you laptop. Usually it will be either a Toshiba bluetooth stack, Widcomm, or Microsoft. Then google that with "xp" after it to find the driver for the bluetooth. Install the software and driver and you should be all set.

Pls go to the Ip address of ur livebox or .. from ur browser & disable mac address

Try reseating the WLAN card
Check for WLAN driver in device manager, if you have updated driver.

Try swapping with the known WLAN card if you an options, if not change the WLAN card

The WLAN may be faulty or the driver got corrupted.
Reinstall the WLAN driver and check the Device Manager to see it the WLAN is working and enabled, if it is then configure it to match your wireless router settings.
If this doesn't work the most likely the WLAN card is faulty.
To get a wireless connection again, purchase a PCMCIA wireless card and insert it into the PCMCAI slot, install the driver for this wireless card and configure it to match your wireless router settings.

Could you please let me know if you have MOBO/Driver CD with your Compaq Presario Laptop.

If it is then use it to install correct driver, without overwriting to previous, if any.

But if it does not help then try something else
