Why won't my Kindle Touch charge?

I've tried using the correct power cord plugged in to both my computer and a wall adapter. I've tried the cord on an older Kindle and it charges the older model. I left the power cord on the Kindle Touch over night, but it still won't power on. When I unplug the cord and replug it, the light is amber for a few seconds, then turns to green.

Kindle battery won't charge . Kindle doesn't stay open

Hello

If the battery isn't too far gone, here's how to revive it:
1.Plug the device into the Kindle A/C adapter (not your computer) and let it charge for a few hours.
2.If you still see the same Critical Battery screen after charging, unplug the USB cord, then hold the power slide to the right for at least 20 seconds.

My Kindle will not charge - I have trued with various chargers I own

Hello

Just follow these steps to fix this issue:

1. Plug the device into the Kindle A/C adapter (not your computer) and let it charge for a few hours. Be sure the charging light is lit -- sometimes a drained Kindle will stop charging a few seconds after you plug it in. Unplug and replug until the light stays on steadily, then leave it alone. Most of the time you'll come back to a restored kindle. If not, go on to step 2.
2. If you still see the same Critical Battery screen after charging, unplug the USB cord, then hold the power slide to the right for at least 20 seconds.
3. Release the power slide, then immediately press and hold the Home key for another 30 - 45 seconds.
4. Once the Kindle's screen begins to flash, release the Home key. The eReader will boot to recovery mode. To continue, press and hold the R key until the screen flashes again.
5. After the device is finished rebooting, you may see the Critical Battery screen once more. If so, plug in the USB cord and wait for the Kindle to return to the Home screen.

My connecter on my ereader is loss, and will not charge, it's a Kindle. What can I do?

Do you mean you no longer have the cord or the connection either the cord or kindle is damaged?
If it's a bad cord most any USB cord will fit it. Then either get an adapter to plug into wall or just plug into the USB port on your computer. If you've damaged the port on the Kindle itself contact customer service for help.

Just purchased a Kindle Fire HD7. Start up instructions say to charge battery by plugging device into power adapter via USB cord. Is there another way to charge device since I have no plug which fits the...

An adapter should have come with your Kindle Fire HD7 when you purchased it. The USB 2.0 cord is universal, so you could plug it into your computer and charge it that way also (while the computer is on).

I am assuming that you checked to make sure you had all the parts. Included in the Box Fire HD 7 tablet, USB 2.0 cable, 5W power adapter, and Quick Start Guide

Kindle won't turn non

Try these:
Reset the Kindle
Hold down the power button, or hold the power slider to the right, for at least 20 seconds. Then release the power button or switch, and push it again to turn on the device. If that doesn't work, hold the power button or slider for up to a minute, then release it and try to turn on the device.

Is there a power issue?
When you plug your charger into the Kindle, the LED should turn yellow if the device is charging and green when the device is fully charged. If the light doesn't turn on at all, it definitely signals some kind of power issue. Replace the charging cord if possible.

The Kindle uses a micro-USB connector, the same as most mobile phones. Try changing the cord or if that doesn't help, try another power source - a different charger, or connect it to a USB port on your computer. Finally, gently wriggle the adapter where it enters the Kindle. If the charging port has come loose, this movement may cause the port to realign and the LED to illuminate.
