If the fault that caused the breaker to trip still exists, it will not reset. Unplug any devices from the circuit in question and reset the breaker. Then plug in items one at a time until you find the device that is causing the breaker to trip. Then fix or replace. You may also have a bad breaker that needs to be replaced if it will not reset even with all devices off the circuit.

If the breaker handle is in the middle position, it needs to be reset. you reset it by pushing it to the OFF position and then to the ON position

1) A circuit breaker will not reset if breaker is hot, or if there is a short to ground.

2) Hot breaker: If circuit is pulling more amps than the breaker rating, or if breaker is loose on the busbar, then breaker gets hot, and trips.
3) Volts x amps = watts. Add up wattage of everything on breaker and divide by 120Volts and that gives you amps.
If your breaker is 15 amps, the SAFE maximum is 80% or 12 amps.

4) If breaker is loose, you can smell burning and hear crackling sound. Jiggle the breaker around and listen for crackling.

5) If there was a short somewhere on the breaker circuit, the breaker will trip.
When you unpluged each device and then the breaker was reset, then that says problem is probably NOT the wiring or breaker.
The problem was probably inside one of the devices that was plugged in.

6) If breaker trips again, unplug each device one at a time, and then try to reset breaker after each unplug to see if you can isolate suspected device.

This is a GFI (Ground Circuit Interrupter) Breaker. So you need to turn off the circuit breaker first. Then you need to reset the GFI (yellow button) by pressing in the button. And then turning the breaker back on. Now, with some GFI's, you need power on to reset them. So if this is the case, reset the circuit breaker by turning it off and then back on. it is still detecting an overload in the circuit. Take the black wire off the breaker and see if it will reset. If so then you will have to trace the wires down to find the short circuit. If it doesn't reset then the breaker is bad

Normally pump motors are connected on a separate
circuit with its own circuit breaker. At your house there is always a electrical control panel housing several circuit breakers for lights, power outlets, range, aircon, motors, etc...Find a tripped off breaker and reset it. To reset the circuit breaker is to switch it to off position and back to on position. Better still you may reset all the circuit breakers except the main
circuit breaker (biggest amp rating).
After resetting the circuit breakers, try to switch your
bathtub pump on, (to test it, if it is still okey). Other-
wise, your motor is damaged and you got to have the
motor rewinded, to be operational.

The oven has its own circuit breaker. try flipping the breaker off and then on again. If breaker still wont reset get a new breaker.

unplug the appliance that is overloading the breaker.
reset the breaker, plug in the appliance. if the breakers pops, then the appliance is the problem.
you may want to check the appliace manual and make sure the breaker is rated for the appliance you are using.
