Logitech wireless mouse not showing red laser light, and movement is extremely slow even after setting speed on max, and its not even a year old. I have to move mouse left to right a yard to get mouse pointer to move across laptop screen from left to right side.
A number of times, I had the USB transceiver go defective after a bit more than a year. First make sure the mouse batteries are in good condition. If so, I would try the transceiver. I ordered about six of them from Logitech. I have a number of computers using these. After having two fail I decided to have spares all the time.

Go into the control panel and click on the mouse icon and see if you can change to settings back to normal.
If not then check under your start menu and see if the intellimouse software is installed there and go into it to change the settings from there.
