I have a Sagem recorder DTR6400T/6700T a number have faults have occurred....can't record,states HDD has reached its recording capacity but only used 5%.......when deleting,comes up with "error during

Can't scroll along menu as it appears to have TV programmes missing...when I try recording even in live play,doesn't work....have deleted page of recording thinking will make a difference as stated HDD has reached it recording capacity,but only have 1 and half pages of recordings which only relates to 5%

One way around it would be to reformat the hard drive. If it has that option. However you would delete any recordings on the drive.
There could be read errors on the drive too, which might be cured by clearing everything off.
Does the drive have a fault or status check? If it does try that first.

I have exactly the same problem. The difference with mine is that mine actually starts up - thsn won't shut off until I manually when I set it to record when I'm away.

Have you tried resetting the recorder to it's default settings either through the menu or by pressing and holding the power button while unplugging it. After unplugging leave it of for a few minutes and then turn it on again.

SOURCE: DVD Recorder LG 160GB HDD/DVD Recorder

There will be a delete option in the list of recordings somewhere.

With out a model number it is impossible to know exactly where.

pls try to format all HDD first backup ur data by connecting the dvd recorder to pc then format ur hdd it will help lemme know

Trying to find Channel 5

Maybe your area doesn't recieve that channel. every area has diffrent channels. But usally Channel 5 works in all areas maybe the signal prob.

Pop open remote case you will need knife or thin steel ruler to do this.
Clean the board contacts and the conductive pads with switch cleaner or isopropyl alcolhol cleaner and you will find it will work fine.
