My new laptop hp pavilion dv2000 has similar problem to others, when I turn it on the screen was divided into 6 smaller parts. how can I solve my problem?
Have the same problem. if updating the graphics driver doesnt work then it probably is the same as my problem. HP service center said it's the graphics card or video card but since the video card is embedded in the motherboard, then you will have to replace the motherboard.

Take each of the 6 parts and put them on ebay for sale. This way you might make enough money to buy a new laptop. Either that or be more descriptive in stating your problem.
plug it into an external monitor to see if the problem duplicates, if so, the replace the screen.. if not, look at the motherboard again. Some of the DV2000 were AMD based, and they were nortorious for running really hot and could have "cooked" some components.
Yes, the GPU is faulty. either replace the systemboard or reflow the GPU. Second option is cheaper and you can do it yourself. There's a link for a diy guide to fix that issue.
Indicates a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information

hi,
i m in Hong Kong. The stupid HP repair center charged US 90 just for inspection!!!!! They they said the whole motherboard had to be replaced, thts additional US 630 dollars, the thing is just 1.5 yr old. They also said i don get to keep the broken mother board after replacement. This is simply irresponsible, unethical, sleazy and UNJUST!!
Thanks. right now the computer is fixed for US70. when i hv time, i'll open it up and see if i can figure it out how it was fixed. The shop suggested tht the computer wont last too long. This is such bad quality for HP... Sorry, i hv to do the following for other victims to find this easily:
(can some creative netizen bring this to the public light to pressure HP to do the ethical things??)
