1. Go to the monitor and do the following step: a. Press "Menu"
b. Go to "Pair Camera"
c. Press "Parking Aid line" to confirm
d. The unit is now in pair mode - if the unit was able to search and connect with the camera, the display will show "Pair OK". If no camera is found, then the display will show "Pair Fail". e. FireWire connection to computer keeps getting dropped. Check with manufacturer to make sure you have the latest driver and firmware updates for your camera and computer. Always turn the camera's power on before making a FireWire connection. Disconnect the FireWire cable before turning the camera off. Use the camera's AC adapter when making FireWire connections. Try a different FireWire cable and try connecting the camera to a different computer. FireWire cables and ports sometimes fail.

Try Re Booting. If that fails go to Device Manager and do a scan for hardware changes.

1. Your computer must have a software (eg: picture viewer) to show you the pictures.
2. When you connect the camera to the computer, the computer should show camera storage as another storeage divice under my computer. if it is not appearing then the camera is not recognized by the computer..

Your camera has a built in diagnostic computer. When Nikon gets the camera it connects the camera to a computer to checks for faults much like modern day cars. There is nothing you can do other than try another battery or send into Nikon. Batteries like camera can be bad.

the screen can be switched off to save power! Make sure screen is set to on position

The Arcsoft CD will not help you as it is not a driver disc. No driver disc is needed. Sometimes the camera gives a false connection error message. The easiest way to tell if it is connected is to go to My Computer and see if any Removable Discs show up.

Doi not type in capitals - in forum speak that is shouting.
If you have the camera software loaded onto the computer un insytall it.
A Windows PC does not need it.
Now plug the camera in and windows wil put up the Scanner/Camera Wizard
Windows can do it all by its self it really can.
Consider also buying a USB card reader - much better.
Download free editing/organizing software such as
Irfan View and/or Picasa

Possible failed battery showing fully charged but actually not -or even charger.No reset] Disconnect from the wall socket- re connect and tell us if the battery is now charging. If show full- replace battery. Also tell Sony customer support
