My fan came off my nutone 6400 kitchen rangehood

Hello,

One night, my (Omega) range hood also blew with a snap, crackle and pop (flash) also after pressing the light button.

The PCB is charred behind the light switch/toggle thingy.

The PCB is a replaceable part, but out of interest I am curious to learn if I can piggyback the light onto the fan switch.

I have never reaplaced anything on the control board. But it is definetly the control board that is defective.

Check that you have not accidentaly switched the wall socket off in the cupboard above the rangehood. The slide switch could also be faulty.
