Why is the plug making a noise when the radiator is on

The plug makes a crackling sound as the heater gets warmer. It stops after the heater has reached the set temperature. Plug also feels warm

There will be a loose connection in either the plug or the socket. I would strongly recommend you stop using the appliance, as there is a risk of fire. You should have both the plug and socket replaced with quality parts by a qualified electrician.

Is it normal for a microwave to make crackling noises when standing and not in use but plugged in ?

The crackling (which sounded a little like a geiger counter) which I could hear when the oven was NOT running was coming from the speaker (where the beeps come from). I unplugged the oven, found the little speaker on the circuit board, yanked one of the wires off of it, and the crackling was be gone.

My delonghi oil heater is very noisy whilst hearing up

This is perfectly normal as the oil gets thicker the colder it is and over a period of time it's viscosity changes.Once the temperature gets above a certain point the oil will melt and the heat will flow through more freely so the popping/crackling stops.

I have a 2009 BMW X5 and its making a crackling noise in the engine. When I accelerate it goes away but is present when the vehicle is stopped or at low speeds. Please help

The crackling sound you hear is called pre-ignition. Meaning your either running too cheap a fuel or the engine needs timing reset because timing is too far advanced and causing pre-ignition. That means the spark plugs are firing earlier than they should.

My Lakewood oil-filled electric radiator makes some crackling noises when first heating - is this normal?

Yes, it is normal. the sound is from the oil heating up and moving through the fins. It will stop after a few minute. After the heater is used for a few months the noise will stop altogether. j

Refrigerator does not freeze enough

Lets have a look at rear wall of freezer, is there frost building up? Usually in top freezers the cold air settles to bottom and you don't notice fresh food section until about a day. If frost is building open fresh food sections door and in control panel=> CLICK HERE see item 257 in photo? That is WR9X565 or 311082 Defrost Timer Just below that is the control panel cover and you should have a small plastic plug covering a hole just below the defrost timer. Pry plastic plug out and using a flathead screwdriver turn the defrost timer clockwise slowly. Once you hear the compressor and fans stop stop turning timer and about a minute later you should hear some crackling noise coming from freezer. Allow to stay like that for up to 30 minutes and timer should come out of defrost and compressor and fans should start again on their own. If this action caused defrost then replace the defrost timer. If that does not seem to cause defrost the we need to go to step two, unplug and place items in a cooler or alternate refrigerator and use a hair dryer to assist in melting the ice behind rear panel. Remove rear panel in back of freezer and see => Freezer Components item's 621 and WR51X10038 or 880036 Defrost Heater Assembly
You will need to remove rear panel and work with refrigerator unplugged from power. On this=> Page watch how to test your defrost element just beside a photo of the timer. Most times I replace the defrost thermostat while inside freezer wall but I will let you try this first and please respond and rate, Thanks, Sea Breeze

This evening my heater is not working, the blower motor works fine, the a/c blows cold air, the heater when set at the warmest temp setting is just barely warmer than the outside air. checked the one fuse...

Check your radiator fluid level. If the radiator is full then located the two lines that go back to the Firewall on the passenger side. Those are your heater core supply lines. One will have a control valves located on it that actually controls how much hot water flows through the heater core inside the vehicle. Make sure that is opening correctly, opening and closing as you make adjustments. Since it is winter, you can bypass this control by opening that valve and tying it open with a zip tie. Make sure you plug that vacuum control hose so you don't get a vacuum leak. This will set you to max heat so be aware of that. If that valve is working correctly, you are going to have to look at the water pump as possibly being the problem or an air bubble in the line that is stopping the flow or water. Good Luck

I was wondering if it was normal to hear "crackling" noises coming from the unit after plugging it in for the first time since last winter?

Depends, it could just be the heater warming up and expanding or it could be an electrical crackling from something shorting out which is not good and it should probably be replaced.
