Black would be minus - and red would be plus + but this will only work if your receiver actullay has a + and - binding post specifically for the sub woofer. Sometimes you will have wiring binding posts and other times you will have a rca phon plug and maybe your sub has that as well

In any 'connection' question there are at least two participants and specific answers require specific details of all parts.
Outs to Ins, usually in a Tape (Monitor) Loop. REC is OUT, PLAY is IN from the receiver's perspective. The EQ will have its own Tape Loop for other processors or tape decks. Same conventions apply.
ANY analog processor can only be used for analog stereo sources. As soon as you engage the monitor for the Tape Loop on the AVR any digital source will be silenced.
