I purchased a universal remote from walmart

But it has NO codes for the ILO TV.....
Could you send the the ones you say work????

Or take the remote back and then look on-line for a site like www.remotecontrolhookup.com/ilo/ they should have the original that you are looking for. Obviously this solution is a little more expensive than getting a cheap $11.99 universal remote, but it makes up for the price, because it's much easier to work with in the long run.

It is very difficut to get a substitute remote control for your ILO TV. Anyway try these codes with your present remote control. These codes are with AT&T U-verse remote for ILO TV. The codes are:
1412, 1435, 1436
If these codes does not work with your ILO TV, buy one AT&T U-VERSE remote control. It will match for it. OK.

Ilo remote problem
Buy a universal remote because lets say your niegbor had the same tv you would have remote wars.Manufactures have provented this buy issueing a code set only for that TV.

ILO 26HD
A lot of universal remotes don't work with Ilo electronics because Ilo is a Walmart house brand manufactured by an OEM. Try using the Emerson code(s) of a universal remote if nothing else.

Need code
i too went 3months with no remote or codes finally a young tech at walmart in another town told me to use 0171 code but cable guy set me up on cable remote to turn tv on and off tech told me to get a one for all remote 9.99 at walmart and code it but to also push setup code for tvdvd and enter code i use cable remote for tv viewing and the one for all to reach video 2 (press tv/vid button twice) for games and dvd player now i can access menu and use my tv as it should hope this helps

ILO universal remote code
I had the same problem trying to program my satellite remote to work with the ILO tv. I found that the emerson codes DO work. Yes local cable remotes will work as long as you have the code and the brand is getting more popular. The code that worked with both cable companys, Charter and DirecTv was 10171 I believe. You can find it under the Emerson codes. Hope this was helpful.
