strange, but this is a card - not just integrated into the mb. I have it in my hand. i doubt I'll be able to find a replacement however.

Probably impossible. Most laptop graphics chips are soldered directly to the motherboard requiring a new motherboard if one dies, and very few are actual "cards." That being said, it looks like your's is a nVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go which might be a card. I'll do some research and find out.

Well if you look at picture for Step 25 here:

It does say that it's the "video board." It looks like it's replaceable, so if you can find a replacement card then it should be possible. Unless you are very comfortable following the guide starting at:

I wouldn't recommend it.

Do not waste your time looking for a CMOS battery to reset password, it will not work. The solution is to take or send the laptop to a Toshiba service Center and have the password erased or reset. You may have to show proof of ownership of the laptop and you will have to pay for the service if the laptop is out of warranty.
