It's time to take the laptop to a qualified technician; if there is a fuse, then it is _not_ an "end-user" task to disassemble the laptop, to change the fuse. If it is _not_ a fuse, then the technician needs to do more trouble-shooting than what you, as a "user", currently know how to do.

Most Toshiba laptops with come with the factory software recovery image stored in a special hidden partition on the hard drive of the laptop. The factory software recovery image allows the user to recover the laptop to its factory fresh condition as when it was new.
This partition may also be referred to as the Partitioned Recovery Method or Free Recovery option.
IMPORTANT: The recovery process deletes information stored on the internal storage drive. Be sure to save your work to external media before executing the recovery.
  1. Make sure the computer is turned off ("Shut-down" from the Windows Start menu)
  2. Remove any peripherals such an external mouse, keyboard, monitor, USB flash drive etc.
  3. Make sure the AC Adapter is plugged in and working.
  4. On machines with the F key numbers on the top edge of the keys and in White:
    • Press and hold the 0 (zero) key and power up the laptop.
    • Release the 0 (zero) key when the recovery warning screen appears.
On machines with the F key numbers on the bottom edge of the keys and in Gray:
    • Power up the laptop.
    • When the initial TOSHIBA screen displays, press the F12 key to enter the boot menu.
    • Use the arrow keys to select the HDD Recovery option and press the enter key to begin.
  5. The TOSHIBA recovery wizard warning screen appears stating that when the recovery is executed all data will be deleted and the original factory software image will be rewritten. If the recovery process offers a choice of Operating Systems, select the appropriate one for you.
  6. After you are sure you have everything you want from the laptop saved, click Yes.
  7. When the Toshiba Recovery Wizard opens, the default and recommended option is "Recovery of Factory Default Software".
  8. After selecting your desired recovery method, select Next.
  9. On the next screen you may have recovery method options. The default and recommended method is to Recover to Out of Box state.
  10. Select next to continue.
  11. Follow the on screen instructions as you navigate through the system recovery steps.
  12. The laptop will restart multiple times and install the needed components.

There's no M70 model, so I'm assuming you're talking abut a Satellite Pro M10, M15 series laptop. If the slightest movement hangs it or causes BSOD, then my guess is ... well ... I'll let you have it: the weaknesses of this models are: (1) bad memory socket (the upper socket),or (2) bad sound card socket. The one that's easiest to access is the upper memory socket - remove the installed memory from that socket, and see if your machine will still hang or blue-screen. I don't know if anyone still fixes these sockets (I do), but you can get around it by installing a larger capacity memory into the lower socket and skipping the upper socket altogether.

to use it again press those keys to enable..if it does not work ..just go to device manager ..and click on the pad ..and enable it (click right )
to get there click on my computer icon (right ) ..and select properties and in there select hardware and device manager ..
In the list you will find the pad under user interface devices..
If it appears in yellow and have a exclamation sign on it ..it means it has no driver installed and you need to run the driver again ..I would run the driver anyway cause this operation will also enable it ..and it may be much easier for you ..

You probably need to install teh video driver again ..This behavior is usually caused by the lack of video driver or a defective video card ..
If your card works ..than the reinstalling of teh driver will make it fully functional ..
If this is not your model please specify and I wil look for your driver ..I only linked it cause you used this category ..
have a nice day and please rate my answer..

just reinstall the driver for it ..if it has no driver it works just with the generic one in windows and the scroll and select will not be allowed..or install a usb mouse and will be easier to work and have all features..(in case the driver is not available for the touch pad )
here is the place to look for the pad's driver ..
this is for Toshiba m-15 s405 ...I linked it cause you placed the question in this category ..If you use another model ..select it from the download list ..also select the operation system ..
If you do use this one ..but another operation system try to install it anyway but under the executable properties modify to run in compatibility with windows xp
have a nice day ..and please rate my answer ...

I think that is nothing wrong but you just selected the wrong way to restore it ..You should select to reinstall teh operation system complete ..and also to format the C drive during it ..in quick mode ..this would save time ..I suggest to get it from the start cause more than sure this way is in error ..and if it do not work ..just use a boot-able disk with the operation system and download the drivers for the used operation system from the manufacturer's site..
here is the link fr your model
select the correct 305 one ..and the operation system and download the drivers in case you do not have them ..
If you suspect the recovery is damaged try to see if they can provide a new one or just reinstall it using a boot-able disk ..
you can download an image from torrent sites.
Good luck !

It usually just need the driver when it does like you described..so ..if you are running xp ..just download the driver and will work

Toshiba... | Answered on Dec 20, 2011

Just use the driver disk to load the driver again and this will also enable it ..If not ..just go to control panel and under the touch-pad feature just enable the device ..You can also do it from device manager ..to do so just click on the my computer icon ..and select properties and hardware and device manager ..In here look for the touch-pad under the human interface ..and select it ..right click and enable .
If in the device manager the pad is in yellow with a exclamation sign ..you need the driver and in case you do not have it ..it can be found on the support site of the manufacturer.
these are the drivers in case your laptop is the same as this category you placed the question into ..
have a nice day and please rate my answer !
