I have a pioneer AVH-P4000dvd 2 din in dash dvd player. I hooked it up right, I did not do the by-pass, I hooked it up to the e-brake. When I play a dvd I get audio but no video. I have full control of the dvd menu, but just a black screen. the illegal notice comes up, I pull the ebeake up and the screen comes up saying "push ok" to confirm im not driving. I push "ok" and the screen goes black with "key" in the left bottom and the "menu" on the right bottom. I have full control of the dvd menu and have perfect sound. but no video at all. all the cd/mp3 and radio works perfect. Please help!

Push in the driving brake. while holding in the brake , engage the parking brake. disengage the parking brake.then repeat this step again. a notice should pop up and you should be fine after that. I put one in a F-350 and had the same problem.

Connecting four speakers(, left right front, and left right rear)t and a 50 watt subwoofer to a pioneer avh-p4000dvd without using an amp.

This has four outputs with about 22 watts RMS and four pre- amp outputs. So if you need to get the 5.1 effect an amplifier is needed to be connected so as to get the center ampflier and the subwoofer activated from the preamp outputs.
The amplifer on the DVD can be used for surround effect - rear speakers - as the front can be powered by the amplifier.

Dvd player to work while in motion

This can be done with a toggle switch or a relay.
**Toggle** Connect one side of a toggle switch to a ground and the other to the light green wire on the unit (parking brake input). Once the vehicle is started, just flip the toggle and apply ground. Taa-daaah.

**Relay** (see image)** This will bypass the parking brake automatically every time.

THE SCREEN WONT TURN ON

it might be hooked up so that you have to have the parking brake on while you play dvds or you might have to turn your dimmer all the way down for it to play while driving. does it play the audio and everything when you put a dvd in but wont displau if so then that is your problem.

No videp playback on Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD only getting sound !!!

Just wanted to add my 2 cents for those who might be having the issue of no video but hear audio. I was having the same problem. I had completed the bypass hack with a single throw/single pole (SPST) toggle switch. I could bypass the warning message and hit the OK button but no video. I did hear audio. I searched everywhere but solution 4 worked for me. The thing for me was that next to the black wire on the harness wasn't empty. It had a purple/white wire with some sort of filter (labeled backup camera hook to reverse gear). I tied into this wire before the filter with another wire (I chose a black wire b/c I was grounding it) and grounded it with the black wire (ground) on the harness. I now have video! Maybe the 4 pole relay hack would have worked better but I had only done the toggle switch hack. I hope this helps others and most importantly thank you Salhi.

Im trying to bypass parking brake switch for pioneer AVH-P4000DVD. I already connected it to ground and then to power, but none of it works. I know that if i Install a toggle switch with 12volt current and...

This what you do. Connect the video wire to a power suppy and install a switch in the power wire. When you put the DVD in and the warning comes up, turn the switch on then off. This will allow you to watch the DVD without the park brake being applied.

Watch a dvd while driving pioneer AVH-P4000 DVD

ground the wire to a hot (ie power comes to the wire) switch in your dash, like a rear window defroster or seat heater. turn the switch on then off and it will trick the system into thinking you activated the parking brake.
